First OnePlus One Phone Rumours hit the web

We are only a few hours away from the official announcement of the processor that will power the OnePlus One, so what a perfect time for a bit of speculation to hit the web.

Early today OnePlus healed a Q&A session on Reddit where we learned a few new details about the OnePlus One flagship. From the amount of internal memory to the networks the phone will support, the team spilt a few more beans than we had expected (full details of the OnePlus Q&A here).

Gizchina News of the week

Now with those details out of the way an unknown source has tipped off Chinese tech site MyDrivers, with further hardware details. According the new post, the OnePlus One will feature an all metal body, will run a Snapdragon 800 processor with 3GB RAM, 5-inch 1080p display and of course 4G LTE support and Android 4.4 Kitkat. The tipster even gave a date of release being May.

We will have to take these purported specification details with a grain of salt for now and see what tomorrows announcement unveils, letā€™s see!

If the OnePlus One does have this hardware on board is it really the true ā€œFlagship Killerā€ the company have promised? Let us know you views in the comments.

Can’t really see how this would make a “flagship killer”? Several of phones announced this year already have those kind of specs, and I’m pretty sure the find 7 will beat these specs by a mile…

I agree with you the Samsungs, Sonys, Htc’s, they battle in the same price range. But I am still qurious to see what the Find 7 is gonna cost. Besides, when I buy a new phone, specs comes first, price second. I mean, we are talking about flagships here, so of course the price is up there. šŸ™‚

Agreed. if that’s all they’ve got, it’s a bit of a YAWN… lets see what they really come up with. If it’s a 5″ 1080p screen, then they’ve exhausted their credibility after all this hype.

hmm i think i would prefer a 5 inch 1080p phone wither a better body todisplay ration than the nexus 5.
from the pictures of the find 7 i saw from chineese certification the bezels look really big and thats a 5.5 inch phone soo i feel more beautiful and easier to use.

The Snappy 800 is battle tested and therefore a wise choice, but I’ll guess we’ll find out in a bit.

I’m starting to get interested in this phone. Hopefully it lives up to the hype.

I really hope the don’t end up with the 5″ 1080p screen. The LAST thing that I want to hear out of their execs is some rationalization about why 2K isn’t needed, and why 5″ is better than 5.5″. Their rationalization about choosing the Snapdragon 800 over the 805 fell upon deaf ears, I don’t want to hear their contorted logic as to why they think using 2013’s flagship processor will make the BEST phone in 2014. There just isn’t ANY excuse for not, at least, using the 801.

It’s looking more and more like they are going to get creamed by Oppo’s 2K Find 7. Ironic, considering that it was Pete Lau’s baby before he left the company. šŸ˜‰
