Lei Jun, CEO of Xiaomi, posted this morning that his company’s latest device has 2 days of battery life thanks to the large battery size.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note is a 5.5-inch 720p Android smartphone aimed at customers wanting big performance on a big phone at a low-price. According to Lei Jun the phone will be big on battery life too, as the CEO claims users will be able to get 2 days of use from the 3200mAh battery.
Gizchina News of the week
Xiaomi are currently taking pre-orders for the Redmi Note on their official website for Chinese customers only. If previous Xiaomi launches are to go by then the Redmi Note will sell out quickly and be in limited supply for a few weeks/month.

But only 1GB RAM on device 5.5 inch? Why not 1.5 or 2GB RAM? All great but low RAM memory, it will be Hongmi v2 in size like Samsung Note 2/3.
for a price cuting..same reason as why screen is not FHD.
and they say KitKat is working good even with 512MB, so it shoud be enough!
Yeah, KitKat work great on 512MB RAM devices, but install 20-30 apps, use 4-5 apps in the same time and you will probably have lags 🙂
I will pay more for 1,5gb or 2gb version, also I wish that Xiaomi will sell Note with 2/3 variants (1,5/2 GB RAM with 8-core Mediatek would be a monster).
it will, for shore…ali chinese do
is 2 version …1gb ram & 2gb ram
@Kai, that would be great, but some roumors says, that really Xiaomi Note will able in 1gb & 2gb RAM versions, but other (like here, in gizchina) Andi says, that will be only 1gb RAM. We must stay tune for official premiere of Note 🙂
on xiaomi.com says that it have 2GB ram
will be 2 versions:
1) MTK6592 1.4Ghz + 1GB ram = 799 yuan
2) MTK6592 1.7Ghz + 2GB ram = 999 yuan
Octo core processors are just marketing bullshit. Developers never use more than one or 2 threads for their applications. Yeah it can make nice screenshot with antutu. But try to launch a real game and octacore will be easily beaten by s800 and a7 apple processor(and it’s even a dual core!).
Octacore just increase consumption of the phone. And it’s just piss me of to charge my phone every day. I hope we can configure the use of CPU by android.
Apart from the soc, this phone is perfect for me. Good battery, 720p resolution ( less pixels, less consumption- but it’s sure that a 1080p screen with more than 5inch could be usefull), 1gb ram(it’s a minimum ), 4gb with micro SD (my next phone will not have under 32GB anyway, i will buy a SD card), 5.5screen, and xiaomi support.
I own a faea F2 which is a super phone, but he is fragile, and does not yet another rom than ROM moded from the stock rom. And the GPU (power VR), seems to be less supported by devs than mali series. I can play the game OSU with my honor (a phone from 2011-2012) but i can’t with F2 . It’s very annoying.
please read something about mediatek octa core processors before talking crap! http://www.engadget.com/2014/02/11/mediatek-octa-core/
They have 2 quad cores – higher and loewer freq for power saving option…
Have you read your article?
“Just over two months ago,
it came out with the “world’s first true octa-core” processor, which
consisted of eight Cortex-A7 cores capable of operating simultaneously(that’s the mtk6592).
Now that ARM has announced Cortex-A17 technology,
however, MediaTek is ready to start sampling a new octa-core chip that
consists of four 2.2-2.5GHz A17 cores and four 1.7GHz A7s, and comes
with a Rogue PowerVR Series6 GPU to take care of any graphical needs you
might have.” and tht’s the mtk 6595 four a7+four a17(big little techno)
Please, if you don’t understand what i m talking stop with your crap talking.
Purchase links please… Also, will these work with USA cell providers?
