The Yu Yureka is a Snapdragon 615 powered device running the Cyanogen OS. It was launched a few months back and received a warm-ish response, and Yu (a Micromax subsidiary) has decided its time to give it a refresh.
The Yureka was also believed to be a Coolpad F2 4G rebrand. With the refresh, the phone is a little more original now. Not a lot has changed though, apart from the display specifications (and price, unfortunately). Here is what the Yu Yureka Plus will come with.
Yu Yureka Plus Specifications:
- 5.5-inch display
- 1920 x 1080p resolution
- 1.5GHz octa-core Snapdragon 615 SoC
- 2GB RAM
- Android 5.0 Lollipop (Cyanogen OS)
- 16GB ROM
- 13 mega-pixel main camera
- 5 mega-pixel front camera
- 2500mAh battery
This does seem like a worthy upgrade, especially when phones like the Lenovo K3 Note (review) are killing it on the market. However, the Yureka Plus will also get a price bump, to now cost 9,999 INR (up from 8,999 INR previously).
The sales model will be the usual flash sale via Amazon, starting July 24th. Oh, and since drop tests (and other extreme tests) are the in thing right now, Yu did one for the Yureka Plus.
It’s not more original, Coolpad had a 1080p version before the720p Yureka was even launched. At launch that was the biggest letdown, that it’s the 720p version not the 1080p.
I havent been able to find the 1080p verison of the F2 anywhere so if they did have it they don’t anymore or it is in limited supply. All I have seen is the 720p version which if that’s all they sell now, it doesn’t make the Yu more original (bad choice of words) it makes it a little different than the F2.
