Gionee’s Marathon line of phones is all about battery life, and the newest entrant — the Marathon M5 is nothing different.
The phone went live today in the Indian market with a hefty 5020mAh battery. With that, the Marathon M5 Plus also features an octa-core processor, and more that you’ll see below.
India CEO and MD for Gionee, Arvind Vohra had the following to say:
“We are thrilled to bring the M5 Plus to India. The device is a perfect reflection of a beautifully crafted powerhouse. Our motto with the Marathon series remains the same with each device to make people’s life stress-free with no battery issues bothering them. We at Gionee believe that smart phones are needed to take down your burdens not add on it, hence, we design our devices as per the utmost needs of our consumers.”

A Mt6753 device costing 27ks.. i just dont get it.
Why would anyone buy this, i just dont get it.
Are they mad? With such spec for over $400? Xiaomi MAX better speced for less than $300 and this crap for over $400
gionee android never update to 6, gionee elife e8 1 year old and nothing.
Elife E7 had Lollipop promised, then it got scrapped without telling the reason.
Dears, pls donot buy this brand, already the logo is a joke. Mi is more sophisticated. Thanks my friends.
Hear, hear
sadly your phones are banned from being imported in Pakistan … so wtf Lei Jun , atleast do something about it :/
Well your goverment should get it together, in India our phones are sold as well, so it is not my fault that your goverment wants to stop progress dear.
Freaking MT6753!
It’s flooding the market the same way the MT6582 did.
F$&¢k MT6753
Its bullshit
6 inch us Perfect but why MT6753
It’s really not a bad chip especially for a phone which focusing on efficiency, the problem is the $400 price tag for a MT6753. This will be a good phone when it’s sold as the new Blu Energy and retails for around $140.
I know it’s not bad as a entry level, I’m disappointed because I would have considered buying this phone with a Helio X10-X20 SD650-SD652
I knew it wouldn’t have SD 650/652. Gionee mostly uses Mediatek in phones like this. I actually expected P10.
Anything but MT6753!
why can’t we have helio x10 as the common driver for most phones ?
it must be a hell lotta cheaper right now … since it was first used in early-mid 2015 , right ?
It’s tough to figure out SoC prices without BoMs from all brands but I would guess the price of the X10 is cheaper but not as cheap as the 6753.
Also we don’t know the availability of the X10. Mediatek might not have enough stock of the X10 to meet the demand for these types of phones.
*sigh* they just wont let the poor 6753 DIE in peace :/
Although the “old” chip, I’ve gotta say that is one beautiful device.
Agreed. It’s very good looking.
Absolutely beautiful but crap hardware. I would have bought this without hesitation, my two years old Oppo Find 7 needs replacing.
where is android 6 for gionee elife e8 or allview xtreme x2??
