Vivo continue the Vivo X7 teasers now confirms Helio X25 and 6GB RAM

Vivo have a set routine that the follow for the new phones, and that is to simply tease main points of the device just before the launch, but it seems someone let the whole cat out of the bag.

Earlier in the week we saw the first official teaser for the Vivo X7, which told us that Vivo’s next smartphone will get a front facing camera of 16 mega-pixels. Not only was this big news as it will be the highest resolution camera found on a Vivo phone to date, but it also set the tone for the phone I.e we all already knew that this wasn’t going to be a high-powered Snapdragon monster.

Gizchina News of the week

To follow up the first teaser a second has now been released showing that the Vivo X7 will have a fingerprint scanner, but not on the rear of the phone like previous Vivo phones, but on the front. What’s more the button is in the same position and the same shape as the one found on Oppo devices and the new OnePlus 3 (both sister companies of Vivo). Another teaser also confirms the use of a front facing flash on the phone too.

If that were’n’t enough, more specifications have been leaked for the phone which show that while it won’t be a flagship device, it is still going to be plenty powerful enough.

According to the leaks the Vivo X7 will sport a 5.2-inch FHD display, Mediatek Helio X25 chipset (remember the updated X20 that Meizu said only they will use..), 3000mAh battery, and memory options of either 4GB RAM and 64GB storage or 6GB RAM and 128GB storage.

As for pricing, well it is believed to be higher than similar brands with the 4GB RAM version costing 2698 Yuan and the 6GB RAM variant coming in at 3288 Yuan.

Great looking phone and specs, but knowing Vivo, this will be priced higher than the Mi5 and OP3, which will make it tough to sell.

It’s bound to cost more but it won’t stop them selling loads of them.

Vivo’s customers will gladly pay for them, Vivo will have no trouble selling these.

Given the frame, home button and thin bezel, it’s somewhat of and OPPO R9 clone with diff internals.

Vivo has been nothing but disappointment lately. This one looks like another tired copy of their sister companies. Hardly any hope for at leas of a good rear shooter

totally agree. i’m been waiting the new Xshot to come, not announced till now (fine). then waiting the Xplay 5 128gb to come to my country (still haven’t/maybe never will). sadness all around. might just get samsung or huawei

Still with a Xshot here. I’ve heard there won’t be another since Oppo is camera centric now. R9 Aka F1 is nothing to write home about.
If you want Xplay 5 just order it from China. Everybody here does it. I’m not impressed by the phone anyway. I don’t even consider it since it’s over 5.2 inches

They charge lots of money and can’t even put in a decent camera. Xshot was literally the last innovative thing you made and it was 2 years ago

Concerning the Helio X25, I think they said it will be exclusive to Meizu for a few months

    • balcobomber25
      June 16, 2016

They did say that but it was a very limited exclusivity as the LeEco Le 2 Pro is already on sale with that SoC.

Shit processor, weak GPU, underwhelming synthetic scores as well as bad (stuttery) real world performance.

Worst of all, one has to download EPO files for getting GPS to even work on MediaTek phones, and that too after 1000 attempts, if MediaTek servers are available by some freak accident of nature, all for a 15 minute outdoor lock time.

    No thanks.

      General performance:

Unless you’re gaming SoC of choice matters very little at this point. UI stutter is a surfaflinger issue that has to be solved ASAP (drivers’ fix).

IO performance is mostly what controls every day performance, and given the amount of ram it would be through the roof (cached apps = IO performance two orders of magnitude faster than EMMC performance).

S,o yeah, like any 6GB phones it would be faaast. Would it also be smooth (not stuttery)? That’s up to Vivo/Mediatek.

Would it be good at demanding games? No! Don’t buy Mediatek phones for serious gaming, will you ever learn?

BTW Synthetic scores are downright misdirection at this point. In the old days they used to loosely predict performance, now they predict almost nothing. If marketing laws mattered companies that post benchmark scores would be sued to Oblivion. Peak performance (what synthetics measure) matters to NOBODY, not even to gamers as throttling sets in eventually… Plenty of 150000 phones having their ass kicked by 80000 phones … it’s a joke.

damn… this Vivo X7 truely is a disappointment, it’s like they’re paving the way for the Find 9.

This year’s chinese flagships are so weak that Find 9 will look like a revolution if Oppo does the job.

Even if its sold only in Rose Gold version xD
