So we know that LeEco are working on a new flagship, but we weren’t expecting the device to also pack the most amount of RAM that we have ever seen in a smartphone!!
Can you believe that at the start of the year we were “making do” with phone with “just” 4GB RAM? It seems like it was only yesterday that Asus shocked the world with the first 4GB RAM phone on the market, and now today we’re looking at a device with potentially double that!
LeEco are no strangers of making phones with huge amounts of RAM, however we weren’t expecting them to raise the bar!
In a recently leaked image, specifications for 2 versions of the LeEco Pro 3 have been disclosed. The ‘Standard” version has a lowly 6GB RAM, but the flagship version is listed with a huge 8GB RAM!!
Gizchina News of the week
The leak reveals more than just incredible amounts of RAM though, and goes in to great detail for both versions of the unreleased Pro 3.
If we look back to the 6GB RAM version of the device we see that LeEco have opted for 64GB internal memory, a Snapdragon 821 chipset, 16 mega-pixel rear camera, 8 mega-pixel front, 4070mAh battery, and 5.5-inch 1920 x 1080 2.5D display.
What we are really interested in though is that 8GB RAM model, that actually has a large 5.7-inch 2K display and larger 5000mAh battery. In fact almost everything is bigger on the second phone such as a front facing 13 mega-pixel camera, and 256GB internal memory.
Not all the details are complete though as the pricing for each phone has been cleverly disguised.
8GB RAM!? Are you ready for a new standard of flagship Chinese phone?
They really got the battery right this time. With a well optimized OS, this phone is a winner.
And hopefully a better camera than the ones before. 😉
And Sony his flagship still uses 3GB ram
Sony are not the kind to follow with these trends. They’ve become a niche in the Android market anyways. But I think that their phone would manage the RAM better than this brand of phone would.
Nice 🙂
I’m excited about batteries, more than the ram… Will the dark reign of “3000mah battery, 3.5 hours sot” flagships ever come to an end?
Literally can’t believe 2 years later 3.5-5 is considered average-good, when in 2014 the OPO could get nearly 8 in kitkat with 3000mah
Producers relied too much on antutu as a selling point: too much power, while batteries stayed the same… No wonder things went downhill from that point onwards!
so what if there is 40 gb of ram??? Bring a battery that can give us 9h sot with that useless 2k display and I’m interested.
I’m ready to bet 5000mah isn’t enough
Go get a Nubia z11 max and u’ll never complain about battery.
Meh
Call me when there is a 32GB ram phone
What can you today do with 8GB you can’t with 2GB RAM?
more marketing
Make a whole day simulation sessions in Chrome including lots of tabs opened at the same time, make one of them Facebook & you are (after longer usage) already down to 4 GB of the free RAM.. But seriously they should pool the brake at 8GB.
Funy thing is if you could install full Ubuntu Linux natively on the phone you would be able to compile complete 6.xx+ ROM(‘s) with this one as requirement is 8GB of RAM.

8 GB of RAM on a pink phone…
Marketing people, these strangers!
Hahaha definitely true. Man 8GB RAM on a phone, the market is going crazy!!! On my Asus laptop I do have 8GB RAM but most of the computers out there only have 4GB RAM. I guess that sooner or later we will have phones with 64GB RAM LOL. Even Xiaomi will release a 6GB RAM version for the MI5S to justify their high prices.
Yes but your laptops on desktop alike OSes use virtual memory to aid them. It’s not a like you can’t use SWAP on Android but still it’s not a best solution in any of circumstances. Let me show you what I actually mean.

i bet the price it will be up to 600$ for that 8GB ram
I should have waited a little.. I just got the Le Max 2.
Their supply chain isn’t the best, mate. You can expect this one to release next week… but it’ll take another 3 weeks to reach resellers.
I wouldn’t mind waiting for a month tho.
A month time is just for the phones to reach resellers like Banggood, Geekbuying, Gearbest. They go unsold for a couple more weeks even after pre-sale.
And even then it would take at least 2 weeks for delivery, so I’d say 2 months minimum.
lol … you should be happy :p
Le Max 2 is a FANTASTIC phone … or so i have heard
Don’t worry pal I just got myself a LeTV S1 x600 32gb version. It will serve me for a good 2-3 years easily. I upgraded from a ZOPO C2 and it’s an amazing phone.
Same horrible LTPS IPS screen from Le Max 2? Move already to AMOLED!
2K anyway useless battery waste, 1080p would given better scores!
lol another clueless. AMOLED pentile is far far worse than any LTPS at the same resolution.
On paper, yes. but in real life, Amoled looks better. I’ve compared it side by side with my Le Max 2 and a friend’s OP3 on mid and max brightness. Amoled screens are more vibrant and brighter in real life. More saturated too.
if you like oversaturation sure.
It’s not over saturated. It’s just more saturated (more warm compared to the dull blueish display)
lol sure.
There is a reason the entire industry is moving to amoled technology. Tv’s and monitors are going OLED as well.

At least Make it DualOS with 8GB ram or WInPhone with Android Virtual System..with 256GB and8GB,It shouldnt be that difficult when chinese tablets are already there….then the 8GB means Sth.
also Why again not use SuperAmloed Screen? For now they are the best Display.
Great minds think alike. Indeed I had a similar wish but it seems its likely not gonna happen. It just might be the only factor that stops me from getting one (along with an existent black border).

Looks like 8GB model has 13MP dual camera at the back and a 16MP selfie camera.
I’m curious about what kind of dual camera setup it carries and size of that 13MP sensors.
IMO 6GB model will be 2099 yuan and other one will be 3099 yuan.

I hope the AnTuTu can cross 170,000 at least. It will be amazing!
Not with a 2k screen
Not for the SD821 processor it’ll be running with but surely next year it’ll be an easy feat for the SD830 to achieve.
pissing contest.
More enticed by the battery sizes than the amount of ram to be honest.

8G model could be with 128GB storage + same 5.5-inch 1080p screen from 6G model, both are 2.5D anyway 😛
2K is also absolutely useless on an 5.5 Display. Just draws more power and gives pathetic users the feeling of seeing more. Kind of like hallucinations…
U absolutely get it.
Nah, its coming with 256GB storage according to most recent leaks.
8GB!? Sweet! My Shooty Skies will never close again!

My lowly Z2 Pro only has 6GB RAM. lol At least it has 128 and not a lowly 64GB.
The Le Pro 3 coming with 8GB of RAM is being paired with 256GB and not 64 or even 128.
So u are definitely correct when u refer to your Z2 pro as lowly.

hory shet …
8GB? The same as I have in PC and never fully used, until I have run heavy PC game? Who will ever use that huge memory on smartphone? Only markets for better selling I guess…

And at the same time they provide ZERO support for x800 US model that still has a L-
Rom (only after the custom one from the resellers had trojans in and everybody was complaining in the USA site so the had to provide one…) and they deny by all means to give us the source code…
Great phones but the worst company policy ever

Man, 8gb of ram is completely useless. They should rather invest in being more price competitive using a bigger battery, work more on rom optimization and stick to 4gb ram. Also better cameras and sensors
PC users are used to hardware progression linked to software evolution. On Android platforms, we only see software stagnation since 5 years and exploding hardware configuration. How could we think this doesn’t come from marketing departments ?
But yeah, it’s really cool to be able to keep Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Candy Crush, Angry Bird and a browser open on Group On without having to loose 5s to reload when switching from an app to another. I’m thrilled.

My phone barely averages 2GB of RAM used a day.
U must be having 4GB of RAM or more on your phone.

There is no point with 2K screen… really, I hope they change it before official release.

I’m only going to buy a leeco when they release a black phone, I just hate white, and the fact that custom roms are almost not possible is an instant no buy for me
