Instagram Direct adds support for voice messages

Instagram

After audio and video calls, Instagram adds voice messages to its Direct section. Available on iOS and Android, this new feature allows the social network to catch up with other properties of Facebook (Messenger and WhatsApp) and also to match the competition (Snapchat, iMessage etc).

Instagram Direct : more and more complete

In their operation, Instagram voice memos are extremely similar to those of other applications. You press the microphone button to record a voice memo and then release it to send it. If you want to cancel a message you are not satisfied with, simply drag to the trash logo on the left when you save. Each message is limited to a maximum of one minute.

With this new feature, Instagram is once again enriching its instant messaging offer. The time when the application was only used to publish photos is now over, we can do almost anything on the social network. Instagram Direct allows you to send messages, photos, videos, GIFs or audio messages, as well as making audio and video calls. In just a few months, Instagram has become a complete messaging solution. In some countries, an independent Direct application is also being tested.

Another change allowed by this new version, the heart button finally changes location. In the previous version of the application, its proximity to the Send key caused many misunderstandings and could quickly become frustrating. Now hidden in a drop-down menu, the heart button should no longer cause unpleasant surprises to its users.
