Ultimate Macbook Air Clone Comes Pre-Installed with Snow Leopard!

12 inch Macbook Air clone running Snow Leopard!

The big question has finally been answered thanks to some good old-fashioned hacking!

Yes, those Macbook Air clones you’ve seen on Ebay and gadget blogs DO run Snow Leopard!

Not only that, but the chap who has managed to pull it off is selling Macbook Air clones complete with the latest update of Snow Leopard (10.6.2) pre-installed and update safe!

The seller claims that this is his Spring Festival gift to all the Apple fans who want an Air but can’t afford the high price tag:

Apple Computer has been a dream of everyone, but it has been because of the high prices to be prohibitive, 10000-20000RMB price is more than unacceptable

so now in order to allow everyone to use Apple’s special product all of our shops computers are pre-installed (with) Apple’s latest official version of Snow Leopard MAC OSX 10.6.2, and commonly used software. Please keep in mind: we sell not just products!

The seller goes on to say they offer a service to install Snow Leopard on your current computer for as little as 400 Yuan ($58) with compatible hardware, and can retro fit necessary Apple supported hardware  for an additional cost if needed.

Gizchina News of the week

Although, the process of selling netbooks pre installed with Apples latest O.S isn’t exactly legal, the seller sounds very genuine and knowledgeable, even going as far to give a few limitations of his hacked device (Bootcamp won’t run in this case, but a dual boot will).

The images below show both black and white 13.3″,  12″ and 10″ Macbook Air clones booting 10.6.2. The 12 inch is of particular interest to us, and I guess a number of Mac fans who have been waiting for a true 12 inch Powerbook replacement!

Great response there geo. Now get your head out of your bum and think about what you said!

Intel Atom is going to be obvious in this form factor and I would LOVE gizmodo to buy one of these and test it. It looks great.

That rss feature on your site here is splendid, you should tell more folks about it in your upcoming post. I haven’t noticed it a first, now I’m using it every morning to check on any updates. I’m on a very slow dial-up link in Ohio and it’s quite discouraging to sit there and wait for such a long time ’til the page loads… but hey, I just found your rss page and added it to the Google Reader and voil? – I’m always up-to-date! Well pal, keep up the good work and make that rss button a little bigger so that other people can enjoy that as well 😛

Your right! A big RSS button be added soon! Cheers!
