Plans for China’s third National Super Computer center we’re unveiled earlier today. The new computing center will be located in Hunan Province and will become the home of the now legendary Tianhe-1a which officially became the worlds fastest super computer last month.
Once up and running the Tianhe-1a, located on the campus of Hunan University will join the 8 other computing centers around the world which compute at the quadrillion-level.
The current national computing centers are in Tinajin and Shenzhen, the third Hunan based center is expected to be completed by the end of 2011.
