Just like public transport buses, we have been waiting around in the cold for days! Months even! For the Windows tablet makers to build up some momentum with only the odd one trundling through.
Now, of all a sudden all the Windows tablets turn up at once! We reported on a dual boot Windows/Android tablet earlier, and now we’ve just received details of this rather swanky Coastar K1050 tablet from our friends over at MICdigi.
More details after the jump.
The bright white tablet looks pretty attractive face on with it’s large 10” (1024 x 600) capacitive touch screen and brake from the norm white colour choice.
Gizchina News of the week
However viewing from the side shows that while looking sleeker and slender from the front, this new kid on the block Windows tablet is quite a portly fellow!
The rather obese girth (21mm thick to be exact) comes down to what are basically net book internals which have found themselves lodged in to a tablet.
Actually from beneath your would be mistaken for thinking the Coaster had once been a net book and the engineers just decided to rip the screen off and glue it where the key board once sat.
The full specification rolls the same as any Chinese made net book- Atom N455 1.6Ghz CPU, 1Gb DDR3 Ram, 120Gb hard drive, Wi-FI, Bluetooth + EDR.
Weight isnt too bad at 890g with overall dimensions measuring in at 262 x 168 x 21mm, and there are 3 colour options black, white and red.
