As we previously mentioned, Barnes & Noble are finally planning to release an official Android 2.2 Froyoupdate for the Color Nook, but what exactly does this mean?
We’ll it means for us there is another Android tablet on the market to entice us, but this time at a very attractive price! The Nook Color can be purchased for around $250 which makes it a pretty pricey e-book reader, however once it gets a full Froyo make over that $250 will be getting you more than just something for your bedtime reading!
The over-the-air updated will arrive mid April and will bring some exciting new features to the little tablet including Adobe’s Flash player, meaning you will be able to enjoy YouTube videos rather than just reading, the update will also include Sketchpad and the extremely popular Angry Birds game, a whole range of ‘Nook’ compatible applications will also be making their way to the tablet.
Gizchina News of the week
The Nook Color isn’t as powerful as most Android tablet currently available, however at that very affordable price and with the ability to play simple yet addictive games and Flash video, we think Barnes & Noble could be on to a winner!
