Google still haven’t applied to Chinese authorities for an official mapping licence as of yesterday which is sparking rumors that the search giant’s mapping service will soon be banned from China altogether!

While such a ban would be a major inconveniences for individuals and companies who rely on the free service, it would also be a major blow to Google Inc. who have already witnessed it’s market share in China drop. A recent survey of Internet leadership shows Chinese Baidu is still the number 1 search engine provide for China with 73% where as Google’s share has dropped from a much lower 21.6% to a new low of 19.6%!
