Rockchip, one of the largest makers of ARM based chips for Android tablets and phones, have been showing off video calling on Android tablets through two new Android applications.
Rockchips demoed both Skype video calling and QQ HD chat video calling on a Rockchips powered Android tablet with front facing camera, but pointed out both application would also work well on Android phones fitted with front cameras.
QQ HD chat is still in the Beta testing stage, but Tencent are planning to launch the app on the official Android Market soon.

Is there ANY Chinese tablet that works with Skype VIDEO chat over wifi?
Thanks
Yep there are a few, but I would say either a Visture or Lenovo are your best bet
Hey there Andi,
Thanks for the tip.
I “taobao’ed” both Visture and Lenovo and they are 1500+ RMB
Since the tablet is for my dad, I am looking for something 700-1000 RMB… do you have any suggestions?
I just need that Skype VIDEO CHAT works, LOL.
Many thanks!
Need to check Rockchip video calling as to will it be at par with likes of Skype, Gomeetnow, R-HUB HD video conferencing servers etc.
