Just recently I have swapped back to an iPhone 4 after living with a buggy Meizu M9 since January, and although the iPhone 4 is a much better, albeit more expensive, package there are some things I miss not having on the iPhone which Android phones have as standard.
One such function is the notification bar which sits at the top of every window in Android. From that bar you can receive notification of what emails or SMS have been received, if your download has finished, and if that app has installed.
The slide down notification area even allow you to toggle certain radios on and off on some Android phones!
If only I could get the same functionality on an iPhone…….
Well now you can, thanks to a Jailbreak only hack from Cydia.
Gizchina News of the week
The hack is called Mobile Notifier and can be downloaded from the peterhajas repo.
Once installed at new settings option will show up in your settings area allow you to fine tune what and how notifications will show up!
It’s not quite the same as what Android users are used to, but for now it’s close enough!
Take a look at the video below to see Mobile Notifier in action!

A better one is notified, however it has no new updates. Due to the fact that the developer was hired by apple for the iOS5 build.
