The news that Google had bought Motorola must have been a huge blow to international companies such as LG and Samsung, as well as smaller local Korean brands SK and SKY, so is the latest news that South Korea is working on it’s own mobile OS a backlash against the Google Motorola merger?

The Ministry of Knowledge Economy, said on Monday: âWe plan to develop Koreaâs own web-based operating systems by forming a consortium of local companies” Those ‘local’ companies include such electronics giants as Samsung and LG!
The planned OS is said to be primarily aimed at the smartphone and tablet market, but there is not reason that it could not be also adopted for use on net books and even laptop computer!
