We’ve known for a while that a small factory in the outskirts of Shandong province have been making there own version of the Smart car. The Chinese produced copy is hand ‘crafted’ from fibreglass and uses an electric drive-train.
Gizchina News of the week
The outside of the vehicle looks suprisingly similar to the genuine article, the interior however leaves much to be desired!
The only details we’ve been able to uncover are that the eSmart is available in either a hard top or soft top configuration, uses a standard wall plug for overnight charging and starts from a wallet friendly 12000RMB ($1700).
We’ll post more as we get it.
