Huawei have been making so many splashes this year I keep expecting to hear some pool attendant to start screaming each time I write about the Chinese tech company.
The latest splash Huawei appear to be in the process of making is with their latest Android tablet, the 7 inch MediaPad.
While other companies have gone for a larger 9.7 inch or 10.1 inch capacative screen on their tablet devices, Huawei have opted for a smaller 7-inch unit, but have kept the resolution at the same level as larger screens.
Gizchina News of the week
This gives the Huawei MeidaPad a lovely pocket-able form while keeping images super crisp and clear (resolution on the MediaPad is 1280 x 800).
That’s not all the MediaPad has to offer though, and it’s with these following specifications apcmag consider the Huawei tablet to be ‘a serious contender’.
Honeycomb Android 3.2 O.S is still surprising and greatly appreciated when found on any Android tablet, data connection is available through Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 3G/HSPA+, and the CPU is a cracking dual core 1.2GHz Qualcomm chip.
Plus there are front and rear cameras with the rear being a 5 mega-pixel unit.
The Huawei MeidaPad hasn’t quite been finished yet, but judging by the specification and the excitement it is generating from those who have used it, this could be one of the first serious iPad competitors!
