iOSdeveloper and hacker, Pod2g, has been clever enough to jailbreak the iPad 2, what’s more his Jailbreak is of the untethered variety, so why can’t he distribute the Jailbreak publicly?
As you can see from the screen shot from Pod2g’s blog, Pod2g is a developer and vary much against copyright infringement and pirating, this partially explains why he has yet to make his jailbreak for the iPad 2public.
Here are some FAQ’s about the iPad 2 and iPhone 4S Jailbreak
How could pod2g have an untethered 4S and dev teams still haven’t released tools to achieve this at home ?
Gizchina News of the week
The exploit I used to inject the untethering files to the 4S relies on having a developer account, and can’t be released publicly. It’s the same reason why @MuscleNerd has an iPad 2 tethered jailbreak but couldn’t distribute it. So, we need to find a distributable exploit to remount the system partition read/write and to set Corona files at the correct places.
Why A4 version of Corona was easier to release ?
Because a tethered jailbreak is a good way to install Corona!
Why don’t you do a tethered jailbreak then ?
A tethered jailbreak also relies on an exploitable vulnerability that we still haven’t found yet !
While this may all sound like we have a long way to go before a legal Jailbreak solution is found for iOS devices with Apple A5 CPU’s, Pod2G did post earlier this week that he is making good progress with a public release!
We’ll bring more news as we get it!
