According to a source at Foxconn, Apple are planning to release the iPhone 5 between June and August this year for a summer launch.
The Foxconn source also, speaking to 9to5mac, went on to say that the next generation iPhone 5 is ready for production, and that the company have prepared a large number of prototype iPhone 5’s making it impossible for the design to leak before launchdate.

That being said, those prototypes are all meant to follow the same form factor of the current iPhone 4S, but with a 4 inch or larger touch screen!
Apparently non of the iPhone 5 prototypes feature the teardrop body we were led to believe the new iPhone 5 would feature last year, but may well have an all alloy shell rather than the current glass and metal body.
