Another awesome reader tip this time from Fel who has found what looks to be a 4 inch version of the Jiayu G3 Chinese phone on sale under a different brand. Is this a mini Jiayu G3, a different phone the world’s first iPhone 5 knock off!
Many of you will already know that many of the clone or local Chinese phone manufacturers here are more than happy to release the same phone under different brands and names as long as the OEM order is large enough, well it seems the Jiayu is no different and looks like they could be producing a smaller 4 inch G3 for the local Chinese market.
Spotted by FEL one of our fantastic readers, the Vivo S6 could actually be mistaken for the worlds first knock off iPhone 5 based on the designs which we have featured over the past few days, if not for the front camera being placed on the right of the handset rather than in the middle which the new iPhone is expected to sport.
Gizchina News of the week
Although the Vivo S3 is smaller that the JiaYu G3 the Vivo is actually priced higher which could suggest that this is an OEM mini Jiayu G3. Pricing for the S3 begins at 1500 Yuan and topping out at 1800 Yuan ($235- $282) while many hopeful readers expect the 4.5 inch JiaYu G3 to cost only $250.
An in-depth specification sheep is not available for the Vivo S3 but from the listing we can see that this mini Jiayu G3/knock off iPhone 5 has 4 inch screen, an 8 mega-pixel rear camera and a 2 mega-pixel front, and only 512mb RAM!
What do you guys think? OEM mini Jiayu G3, iPhone 5 wannabe or all new phone?
