Can’t wait to see what Samsung have planned for the second generation Note? Neither can Chinese phone makers so they’ve already launched their knock off Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Android phone!
I’m sure you’ll all agree that it was Samsung’s Galaxy Note which finally made large screen smart phones the next big thing, and the Note 2 promises to build on that popularity. But while most people are happy to wait to see what Samsung have planned, Chinese phone makers cant and have already made a knock-off Samsung Galaxy Note 2!
Gizchina News of the week
The Galaxy Note 2 clone, on sale as the N9776 in China features a huge 6 inch screen and Android operating system (possibly Jelly Bean) powered by the popular MTK Mt6775 dual-core chip running at a frequency of 1.2Ghz.
A 5 mega-pixel rear camera suggests that the price of this clone will be rather low, yet the designers behind it have managed to cram in Dolby 5.1 stereo speakers!
Prices haven’t been confirmed but judging by the rear camera and very low resolution screen (480 x 854), expect prices to be around $200!
Hi Andi,
Guess you meant MT6577 dual core CPU.
Dont you think, 6″ screen is a bit too much for a smart-“Phone” ?
You guess correctly 😉 6 inch is not enough I won’t be happy until I see 13″ Retina display phones and 24″ tablets! Haha!
Oh my, I hate Phablets.
Too big as phones and yet too small as tablets. Damn
Im ok with anything up to and including 5.3″ perhaps 5.5″ but 6′!!!
Yeah, 5.3″ is okay. Galaxy Note 2’s 5.5″ is fine too since the speculation is that the bezel is tiny and space utilization is great , hence keeping the overall phone size same as Galaxy Note (and Im sure they gonna try to make it thinner).
But a 6″ is just too much. I mean look at the 1st pic (with the guy holding the phone in his hand – the screen in full display). The damn thing looks like Nexus 7 tablet !! 😀
On point Andi and Amby.
This phone is a FAIL.
See it from the perspective of a tablet, Isn’t that look cool from design point of view (tiny bezel / thin /light weight etc.
They are almost there. Andi just ask them to do following iteration to it and I’m (many) ready to buy it.
1. Push the screen a bit more like 7″ with IPS 1024×600 resolution or so.
2. Fit in MTK6577 processor instead of MTK6575 and 1GB of Ram.
3. Use Motorola Maxx’s 3300mAh x2 OEM/ODM Batteries.
Tell me when can I see a sample. 🙂
This phone fails.
The size is bigger than the Note 2. The Samsung Note walks a (very) fine line and does it very well. This phone crosses the line in a bad way. It’s large without any additional benefits of being large. The resolution blows. What’s the point of a giant phone with a low resolution? It has a wide bezel too.
And no stylus? The Note is the “Note” because of the stylus.
On top of that: How can anyone knock off a phone that hasn’t even been leaked yet?
Agree with you Popo I think 6 inch phones are an absolute waste!
We’d rather go for a nexus 7 which costs the same and is argued to be world’s one of the best tablets at the moment.. this phablet is a waste of an otherwise good CPU.
this phone is known as carpad note and have two cpu versions, 6575 and 6577 costing 160 and 209 dollars available on fastcardtech
Andi,
You know what I think. A 6″ high performance device will sell in millions … just like the 5.3″ NOTE did after having been panned by almost everyone.
A 6 inch device will fit into virtually all pockets … and can be operated as a phone through the use of an earpiece/mic. That’s a perfectly safe mode of operation.
It’s also just about the ‘ideal’ in-car sat-nav configuration. Try one sitting in front of the central air-vent on almost any car. It works great on my Volvo Estate.
A good 5 point touch screen is essential; and a well implemented Siri cabilit will show it off very well.
I could go on … but I’m sure you get my point !
Correction for typos … sorry !!

I could go on … like mentioning something as good as the ‘planned’ SGN2 13MP camera … but I’m sure you get my point !
