The updated JiaYu G2 which features a dual-core MTK MT6577 CPU was made available for preorder today at noon, but you’ll be lucky to secure one now!

The dual-core JiaYu G2, which is actually available in 2 models starting from just 599 Yuan ($100) had its official pre-order sale today, but don’t try to get one now as these bargain Chinese phones are already sold out!

Externally the new updated JiaYu G2 dual-core looks exactly like the previous model which featured a single core MTK MT6575 CPU, but internally the new new JiaYu G2 phones offer a few updates.

Gizchina News of the week

The cheapest version of the JiaYu G2 which costs just $100 here in China features the dual-core MTK MT6577 CPU, 512mb RAM, and 5 mega-pixel rear camera, while the more expensive 799 Yuan ($125) JiaYu G2 gets 1GB RAM and a much improved 8 mega-pixel rear camera.

Both phones feature the same 4 inch IPS screen with a resolution of 480 x 800, and both phone run Android ICS 4.0 OS.

Those who did manage to secure a dual-core JiaYu G2 should get their shiny new phones in just 7 days, so expect a slew of hands on videos cropping up over the next weeks.

Didn’t you realize that you won’t get those prices ever? I like blogs saying info about very cheap devices while they NEVER say you won’t have a chance of getting one.

I start to suspect those devices are only made on demand and to Chinese people, but the big news is to give you the false chance to get one. Interesting way to make a phantom hype of a product.

Well if you live in china you get those prices
If you live everywere else in the world it might cost you 50 or 60 bucks more
Which is still cheapest price for those specs

Heard that jaiyu replace for free the original model by an updated one for those who bring them back before 15 aug

    Here’s a vid of the updated g2

Once the phones are available for sale (not pre order) you will be able to buy them.

    Hi Andi!
    1. There are 2 updated versions of jiayu g2 right?
    2. I was planning to buy the best of them (168 usd) is it worth it over the other updated version (159 usd)?
    3. Is it worth buying an extra battery (6 usd) or does it have a good battery time?
    Thank you very much!

    • August 29, 2012

Yep their are 2 models. Go for the slightly more expensive one, and if it’s just $6 you should get a spare battery just in case. Let us know how you like it!

Is this a one time payment of $100? Is it defaulted in Chinese? Is it a REAL android?
