This HTC One X Clone gets a 12 mega-pixel camera and 1.2ghz MT6577 CPU!

When you buy an new phone is it the rear camera specs that really sway you towards your decision? Are you also looking for a MT6557 dual-core phone which won’t break the bank? Well this all new G9088 HTC One X clone gets both a great 12 mega-pixel camera and dual-core cpu!

It’s a shame that the Chinese phone maker behind this phone have resorted to making a clone of the HTC One X rather than creating a unique smart phone which can be seen on it’s own merits, but thats just how some Chinese companies choose to roll.

If you can look past the obvious Shanzhai look and HTC knock off looks then the G9008 is a really amazing Chinese phone and one which is likely to grab Chinese phone fan’s attention.

The first headline grabbing fearture of the MT6577 G9088 is the rear camera which. Rather than going for one of the more popular, but less flash 8 mega-pixel cameras available at a low cost, the G9088 has been given an astonishing 12 mega-pixel rear camera!

As we are sure you all know it isn’t just the mega-pixel of a camera which ensures great quality, aperture size and lens width are also important factors, but there is something rather satisfying in knowing that your inexpensive Chinese phone has more mega-pixels than your friends iPhone, or Samsung phones!

Gizchina News of the week

The screen on this HTC One X MT6577 clone is a 4.5 inch IPS QHD unit with a resolution of 960 x 540, which I imagine isn’t going to do your 12 mega-pixel photos justice, but is going to be fine for most uses such as gaming and web browsing.

Above the screen there is a front camera for video calls, self portraits and, if you must, using for a mirror, and it too is way above average as it is a 2 mega-pixel model.

Keeping things running and powering Android 4.0 ICS is a MediaTek MTK MT6577 dual-core CPU running at 1.2Ghz, however for some strange reason only 512mb RAM has been fitted and I personally hope a 1GB or even 2GB option appears in the future.

A 2000mAh battery has been squeezed in to the 10.5mm thick body which is quite good for a phone like this, and there is support for a micro SD card to boost storage space.

No announcment has been made to if the G9088 HTC One X clone will get Gorilla Glass or dual-sim support and we haven’t been made aware of the release date, but we do know that this 12 mega-pixel camera equipped Chinese phone will retail at around 1500 Yuan ($236) which is the same price as the 8 mega-pixel, Qualcomm equipped Xiaomi M1s!

Why, why, why 512mB Ram. I was ready to buy. I am waiting and waiting for the Zopo ZP300 with dual core to come out. What, in your opinion, is the best dual sim android currently available?

I’m also waiting for the upgraded zp300. Phone looks sweet and has very good specs. Newman N1 is also a potential buy. Still the gpu kinda sucks.

it’s always something isn’t it… a phenomenally spec’d phone, but only 512kb…ugh… deal breaker. personally i don’t give a crap about 12mp if the quality isn’t good.. i’d much prefer a 5mp or even 3mp camera with great quality to a 12mp with mediocre… not saying this cam is mediocre, i’m just sayin 😉

Yup I have no idea why they’ve given it 512mb! That said the 12mp camera could turn out to be garbage anyway

Allright. The new Zp300+ will also have the PowerVR SGX531 GPu inside, so I don’t rly know why it’s more pricy than the Newman n1.

Can anyone tell me if that GPU is good enough?

Zopo class themselves as a premium Chinese brand so they tend to charge more, also I think you’ll have more chance of getting a warranty honoured from Zopo 🙂

    Why only 512MB?
Because its a cheapy phone made to maximize profit margins not user experience.

This is the sort of product the makers want sold in shops by impulse buyers who are impressed by numbers on the cardboard box.

The 12MP camera will have a small sensor judging by the standard width of the lens, so don’t expect sharp images unless you’re outside in full sunlight and can hold it steady…
