More good news guys we have a hands on video with the JiaYu G3 showing off this Chinese phones gaming capabilities! Keep reading to watch the video after the break!

I have a rule when it comes to Chinese brand gadgets and phones and that is this; if my wife, a self admitted ‘phone snob’, says something looks good and seems impressed then it must actually be an awesome bit of kit!

That’s what happened just this moment as I was watching the JiaYu G3 hands on video, my wife said it looks “Awesome” and thinks it’s about time I retired my iPhone 4 for one….

I agree from the video below the JiaYu G3 looks every bit as impressive as we all hoped it would! The video shows someone at JiaYu’s factory playing Brothers in Arms 2 on the 4.5 inch Android phone and shows off the JiaYu’s impressive gyroscopic sensors to full effect for looking around in the game!

Not only does the JiaYu G3’s dual-core MTK MT6577 CPU handle Brothers in Arms 2 without a problem, allowing the game to run smoothly without slowing down, but the 4.5 inchIPS screen on the G3 looks stunning and seems to have a very impressive viewing angle!

Arrrrrrrghhhhh! Just release the phone already! Yes we get it, it looks good, its got good spec, its cheap, it works well! But its no good if no one can actually get it yet!
Mini rant over.
Can’t wait for it. I think I’ll settle for a quad core K860.

But the video was take in very dark environment. So it is not possible to make any conclusion about the maximum brightness.
I am from Germany. An LG LTE cell phone is selling here, witch got a 4.5 inch screen and a HD resultion (1280×720). Our Test-Magazins all mentioned that this display is very very dark. So it is hard to see anythink under direct sunlight. Even if the display is specified with 500nit.
So i assume, that we will got a very dark screen with the G3.
Sorry for my bad english. I hope everybody understands what i try to express 😉

Let’s not forget, if you live in the USA or UK we can play console games from ps3/xbox360 on these China phones like Batman Arkham City, Borderlands, Homefront, Darksiders 1 & 2, NBA 2k12, Street Fighter 4, and 100’s more through wifi/3g/4g connections instantly for free through the “OnLive” android app.

Very nice! I was afraid that the old SGX531 won’t be enough for the 720p screen. Now to find a reliable source for it… Any suggestions?

  @David sorry I made a mistake when typing up the article. The RRP in China is $140, not sure how much online resellers are marking them up as though.

About the Screen mentioned above…
I saw in android-sale this specs:
Screen Size: 4.5 inch QHD screen
Display reulotion: 1280*720 pixel
Something wrong here…qHD refers to 960 x 540 resolution…
So, is this screen qHD or HD? HD ( 1280 x 720) / QHD ( 960 x 540 )
And i think it comes about 190, 200 US!
I give much priority to a good screen,so
RunnY, what you think about the screen quality? Darkness is the only problem there?

  @mmassad Chinese price fot the JiaYu G3 is 899 Yuan (as of writing this, if they change don’t shoot me) which is $140 (oopps I should edit the post..).

The G3 is specified with 1280×720
I posted in a german forum why i was wondering about the german statements according the brightness of the LG 4.5″ 1280×720 (IPS).
Here is a short summary:
So first of all i dont belive, there are more than one LG IPS 4.5″ 1280×720. The screen was introduced under big attention (hope it is the correct english word).

I think you will find much more news sites.
What speaks for a low brightness:
It is the german “LG Electronics P936 Optimus True HD LTE” (long name) wich was tested with very poor brightness values. But maybe, LG has reduced the maximum brightness to reach a better battery life, because it is a LTE phone.
Because of that i assumed a relation between the brightness problem of the G3, mention by Jiayu.
What speaks for a (very) good brightness.
The display is specified with 500nit. Another LG IPS Display (4.7 1280×720 also labeled as “thru HD”, can be seen in the german LG Electronics P880 Optimus 4X HD) getting very very close to his specified 550nit. Measured 548nit. So why should the 4.5“ screen should be so far away from his own specifications?
Just for comparison, in the same review the Iphone 4s was measured with 488nit.
So here are some reviews of LG phone with (imho) the same Screen. In this cases the reviewers mentioned a very bright 4.5“ LG Display.

I just speculate…. maybe there comes a low brightness mode with this 4.5“ LG display. This was used for the german „P936 Optimus True HD LTE“ because of the very bad battery life of LTE. And there is maybe a high brightness mode, used by the US phone models with the 4.5“ screen. Just in this mode the 500nit will be reached. Maybe Jiayu now found out how to drive/trigger (dont know the correct english word) the display the right way.

I dont understand that much…but,
you think the screen of newman n1 (qHD 960 x 540) is much worse than HD (1280×720) ?
Is this visible? so much perceptible?
or anyone else who knows…

ahh.. at least even if it comes with strange qhd resolution as long as the display not dark as they mention it still very worth when were sell at $140 😀

Olá, meu marido comprou g3, é demais. Mas eu consegui bloqueá-lo, logo na tela inicial fui trocar a senha que desenha e pimba, não deu certo, depois de várias tentativas bloqueou. Algém tem alguma dica de como consigo desbloqueá-lo? Obrigada
