Thanks for the review, Andi. The PIPO M1 looks excellent. Eventhough the the Rockchip RK3066 is dual-core it scores close to the nVidia Tegra 3 in performance because it has a newer memory controller and works with DDR3.

Can you please comment on the battery life and wifi performance? I’m also curious about how well the M1 interfaces with peripherals. Jelly Bean finally supports USB audio. Are the USB micro ports and the proprietary power plug convenient to use?

@Boris I\’ll try to do a write up on the battery this weekend.

Are you planning a comparison chart of all these phones and tablets with the usual main features ?
I mean camera details, antutu bench, embedded 3g/wifi, ppi, suggested price, multicolor, RAM and inches (that should be fine)

@Gabe if time allows it would be great πŸ™‚

I received the Pipo M1 yesterday and I’m very happy with it so far!

Just got the “Ramon2025” rom installed http://tiny.cc/epw1kw.
Now i have a English standard keyboard instead of Chinese πŸ™‚

@Geodex you mentioned the same rom, however there is now a release 2 available.

Great value for your money πŸ™‚

    Hello Andy,
I have just purchased the PIPO M1 after watching your reviews over the pastcouple of weeks. It is my first tablet and playing around trying to personalize the homescreen I have deleted the bookshelf off the screen. Am I able to restore this wthout resetting? I don’t want the default chinese lang…Thanks Melanie πŸ™‚

    • October 15, 2012

If you reset it you can go in to the language settings and change it back to English.

Man, I need to choose between a google Nexus 7 vs these tablet. I want to use it at least for 3 years, for college and entertainment (Use of octave, alternatives to Microsoft office, pdf, ebooks, web browsing, etc…). Which one is better?
