Xiaomi M2 is faster than the Samsung Galaxy S3 and more!

The quad-coreXiaomi M2 will be officially launched later next month and is expected to sell out thanks to its high performance package in a low-cost ($313) price, but just how fast is Xiaomi’s new phone compared to models from larger, better known brands?

Even before the Xiaomi M2 was unveiled and we got to see the Quad core Qualcomm S4 phone in the flesh we had already seen leaked benchmarks of the Chinesephone whooping the Samsung Galaxy S3’s butt in various tests.

Now that the Xiaomi M2 is nearing launch and Chinese media are getting their test unit’s delivered to them we are eventually finding out if the rumors were true and is the M2 will live up the hype.

Well as you can see here the rumours are true and the Xiaomi M2 certainly looks to be worthy of all the hype!

According to test carried out by one Chinesephone site the Xiaomi M2 surpasses a number of high-powered Android phones in benchmark results including more than a few flagship phones from larger manufacturers!

When pitted against the SamsungGalaxy S3, Note 2, Huawei D1, Lenovo K860, all of which are quad-core Android phones, the $316 Xiaomi M2 managed to come out on top scoring an impressive 14639 on AnTuTu where as the SamsungGalaxy S3 only managed 12504 and the Note 2 13470!

The Xiaomi M2 will go on Pre-sale in China next month in a lottery fashion, store allocated stock is expected until much later in the year.

I don’t want to say this, but anyways the fact is that iPhone 5 pawned every phone on planet earth on benchmarks.
Just check the anandtech’s iPhone 5 review and analysis.
Time has come that manufacturers start focusing on software optimization part. JB performance is up by 20 % in compare to ICS. Now Google need to really focus on super optimization for next Android, if they really want to beat iPhone.
An under 500 sunpider, +2500 geekbench +20000 score is must with the existing hardware, not to mention the battery saving skills.
iPhone5 got only 1400 mAh battery and can last 8 hours of we surfing on LTE. Amazing.
I don’t want to sound like a iSheep, but facts will remain a fact. No amount of fanboyism can deny that.

  Lol… I get higher scores on my galaxy s2 than what anandtech came up with for the the s3. It’s bias.

I don´t pretty understand what kind of speed we´re talking about.

I read on another site that Iphone 5 only beats S3 by not much…. The new qualcomm s4 krait pro is the only chip that can beat Apple’s chip. It can score higher than any other chip. The worse of all the quad core chip scored is the Nvidia Tegra 3 (but has a good GPU). With that said I think the only reason Apple can score better is because Android phones have more features and/ or better features than an Iphone 5 which can lower the benchmark scores.

@max: there is no denying it. In fact, I always feel even with JB, Android still have some work to actually gained the smoothness on par with iPhone. Surely JB reduced the gap, but still not on par.
Just like PC and Macbook, so is iPhone (iOS) and Android devices. Both has pro and con. Specifically for me personally is pricing. The reason why I went to android all the time. Also they have many neat features such as: widget, (god how much I love) new notification on JB and larger screen. Every release on android OS, bring some neat and cool features.
Of course, it is back to your personal references. But, I won’t spend 700++ USD (it may cost you USD 900 on initial release iPhone 5 in my country due to the high tax and customs) on smartphone for 0.x Sec smoothness which you can barely notice. while also loosing many neat features (and reliable map btw, I used to travel quite a lot so this is a must). I might take another look on WP, but here in my country it cost you only a few $ cheaper price on par with iPhones.

@Ivan, I agree with every word you’ve said. I love Android. Not just because its good and give me freedom and good usable features. But also because I get options to choose from variety of relatively cheap hardware.
And I’ve felt, It’s not just me. Now a days a lot of people question the rational of spending so much more money on apple phone. Especially in light of that a $200 THL or Zopo can give you almost similar feature set minus those microseconds of unnoticed performance by most average folks.
A MTK 6577 1GB RAM with 940×640 /4.5″ screen is Almost as good as any expensive phone can be, with obviously those microseconds.
But I made my point for Google and Elite brands like HTC and Samsung. I genuinely feel that if you can’t match the performance of apple phone which is using 70% of Samsung made hardware. Then it’s a Shame.
Better they start taking note of what they are missing. And ultimately those improvement will come down to these el-cheapo phones.
An MTK 6577 / 1GB /4.5″ / 960×640 /2500mAh phone should be selling for $149 on this Christmas Season. And the MTK 6588 for $200.
And with a hope that next Google’s Android version should be making these phones further awesome.
