JiaYu G3 has been rooted!

It was only a few day’s ago that the JiaYu G3 finally received it’s network license, but already this amazing Chinesephone has been rooted by devoted fans!

The tools needed to root the JiaYu G3 are available here at the JiaYu forums where you can also find instructions in Chinese of how to root the new 4.5 inch Chinesephone.

While I’ve not tried the root myself (as I still haven’t gotten my JiaYu G3!) the process is meant to be fast and painless due to the small file size of the root .zip file.

I’ll post detailed instructions on how you can root your JiaYu G3 in a few days once I’ve heard the feedback from more users who attempt to get full access of their new phones.

This universal root for ICS and Jelly Bean may also work. It worked on my ICS phone, after trying several tools and even a script which was meant to work for my phone with no success.

Hey guys.
This will be my first Android phone and i have a question about “root”.
I understand that if you root your phone you will be able to use customROM, can you advance me which one is the best. I have heard about this one http://en.miui.com/
What’re yours opinions, is it good idea to use JiaYu with customRom?

  You have to flash a custom ROM which was made for your phone. You can’t just flash any ROM. It has to be compatible. If MIUI has a ROM for your phone then you can flash it. There’s a chance that you’ll brick your phone if you flash a ROM that was not made for it.

    Thanks, but there is no customRom for JiaYu. Do you think its good idea to install customRom, whats privilages?

      To some extend, it was good to install customrom because it doesn’t come with bloatware that the manufacture put into the phone. Sometime a dev also make it more faster and fluid.
      I don’t have jiayu phone, so don’t know it have bloatware or not? if you found any custom rom, you must think why you want to flash it.
      if you just want to customize it, use launcher. some launcher have a theme prepared.
      Apex Launcher
      Go Launcher
      Nova Launcher
      etc…

hello!
it feels like a noob but…. whould anyone could explain what is “root” ?
it’s like jailbrake? cause i think is has to do with getting full access on something..?!
ps. i have not android phone

  well in a brief, it is a “jail break” but a little different.
  Most people do root in a basic to uninstall “carried” application that has no use. For example, I got my Orange ZTE Blade from UK, while I live in Asia, which have no use for me. but I can’t uninstall it using usual method, therefore I need to root it to uninstall them via ADB or fastboot
  But there are more to it, rooting also means “super user” access or admin access for your phone. With rooted phone you basically can change anything and mod anything. It is the first gate for modding and flashing ROM.

Recently I’ve been able to root my Jiayu G2-S (the MTK6577 one) with the help of this script:

Probably the G3 would be root-able this way too.

@Ivan, thank you for your time, explaining these to me.
I am also waiting for Jiayu G3. In fact i ‘m waiting for some full reviews before i proceed to an order. Anyway, i keep looking on everything that has to do with G3.

1 first JYG3-ROOT.zip, copied to the phone SD card root directory.
2, shut down – and then press to enter the Chinese recovery.
3, the second “Brush package installed on the SD card
4, select the “to select ZIP Brush package” from the SD card on first
5, find JYG3-ROOT.zip, and to determine
6, select “- brush the entry JYG3-ROOT.zip”
7, wait for the card to brush completed. (Small package, speed fast)
8, return to recovery Home, restart the phone.
I found this.I don’t know if it works.
