Oppo Find 5 vs iPhone 5 vs Samsung Galaxy S3!

If you read the news from a few hours ago, then I am sure you like me are super excited about the Oppo Find 5 which features one of the best looking Android phone designs and features list of any phone I have ever written about! But, how does the Oppo Find 5 compare against flagship phones such as the iPhone 5 and Samsung Galaxy S3? Keep reading to find out.

This comparison was originally posted on Oppo’s informative and very bust forum, but I have translated it here for us all to enjoy and bask in the owe that is the Oppo Find 5!

As you can see from the table above the Oppo Find 5 has some definite advantages over the iPhone 5 and Samsung Galaxy S3 and not small differences either!

While the iPhone 5 and S3 only have 1GB RAM the Oppo Find 5 will have 2GB RAM, then there is the more powerful 1.5 GHz quad-core CPU, and the much larger 2500mAh battery!

Amazingly Oppo have managed to keep the thickness of the Oppo Find 5 to a wafer thin 6.9mm which could make it the thinnest quad-core phone available once it is finally launched (later this year?).

And what about that 5 inch 1080p screen with 1920 x 1080 resolution and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean? The Oppo Find 5 is shaping up to be a world beater and if prices stay at the rumored 2500 Yuan ($400) price mark and Oppo continue to launch their model of launching phones in physical stores rather than in online preorder lotteries, then they could be set to take over the Chinese smartphone market!

  It\’s not released yet so the prices are still up in the air. Doubt it will be $599 though

The battery life is going to the terrible I suspect. The power consumption is going to be off the charts.

Same question as Simon. Do you think/know if Oppo 5 will be sold in any of the overseas (EU/US) markets ?

  Online retailers like FastCardTech (already up at $399.99), and Android-Sale ($599), will, maybe others but the price is going to be higher than buying it in China, whether or not shipping will be extra or free.

What about the possibilities to change roms etc .
I see nice phone arround China but anywhere i do not see that they have a community for devolpping roms like Miui.
I think that i the Chinese Factories want to get a bigger slice of the cake that they have to look in to the world market

Hey, for me is more interesting to know this:
1st, will it come with Google Play & other G. Apps?
2nd, what about rooting? Mission imposible or pretty easy to do?
3rd, will it be available at stores or like Xiaomi, batches?
4rd, any idea of OS future updates?
I believe battery life should be at least like SGS III, 28nm CPU onboard is a warranty, 0,2″ more shouldn’t be a big issue.
Now I’m rethinking my Xiaomi 2 purchase…

Although it dos seem a little too high for the Chinese market so… maybe it’s the International version or anyway they are talking about International sales.

are there in China Oppo stores just like Apple stores here?

  I’ve never come across an Oppo store (Meizu have stores like Apple) but there are plenty of stores stocking Oppo phones, in fact I could probably head out of the coffee show now and walk in to about 5 places with the Finder 3 on sale now with stock (if it wasn’t so early in the morning)

    Hi Andi, I’ve seen this on their website 专卖店网点 it seems they have some good loojing stores (like the Meizu ones), at least here in GZ.
    BTW, the Finder 3 is at 2498 RMB on Oppo’s web… there’s a chance they’ll charge 2998 for the Find 5 or maybe pull down to fight Xiaomi’s bet (amazing the 1S at 1299 RMB!!!). I’m waiting Xiaomi 2 release (it fits me better) but if I’m not into the chosen ones I’ll take a closer look at the Find 5 (only if it’s in the 2300-2500 RMB range).
    Are you pointing at Oppo or Xiaomi?

      Hi Xiaolu I’ve seen the Oppo finder for 2300Yuan in stores I imagine they’ll drop it to 1999 (maybe less) when the Find 5 is launched. It’s not only Xiaomi Oppo will be competing with as the new quad-core Meizu MX2 will be launching too! Let the price wars begin 😉
      Now I’m stuck to which phone I prefer but I think the Oppo might be my preference simply as it will be on sale in stores, if Xiaomi launches in stores sooner rather than later though I might swap back.

        Sure! Competition only between chinese manufacturers is SO tough! I forgot Meizu MX2, but thinking for a minute comes to my mind also Newman N2, Lenovo K860 and Huawei Ascend D1 XL, not to mention the foreign 4 cores available/expected (SGS III, Note II, HTC One X/XL & J Butterfly, ASUS (not so foreigner) Padfone 2, LG E960… WOW!
        In my case the best looking platform is Qualcomm’s (APQ 8064), for many reasons, among them: is Firefox OS’s team choice and probably their developments will run on this smoothly (hope so), making possible future ports of this promising OS from Android. Is soon to now, but I’ll bet on it.

I was in Bangkok recently and saw large bill boards at stations advertising the Oppo finder 3 brand. So I would think they will be there as soon as they can get them.

Well the Finder 5 sounds like a very good phone but I’d still like something smaller.
At 5 inch I doubt it that his phone will actually fit many pockets. 4.5 inch is probably as high as I would go.
And the price is too much also, something like the G3 sounds more to my taste.
Good phone though , congratulations to Oppo.

I am getting ready to purchase an address in China for a low monthly fee in order to get these phones faster, now all I have to do is find a good “Chinese to English” translator, and hopefully they accept USA debit cards. *fingers crossed*

  This way though, will you be able to get the phone from a China only store which will be cheaper and therefore to the rumored China prices ($300-$350)?
  Or will you still have to buy it from an online retailer (Android Sale sells them for $600, come on, in China that’s an Oppo Find 5, a quad core tablet and a nice celebratory meal ;-q)?
  And will you travel to China sometime so you go to collect it or will you get someone to do that for you?
  No but seriously, let us know, I would be interested in doing the same.

  Yep you will def see the Oppo. They are a much larger and better organised company than JiaYu. They wouldn’t be leaking this stuff if they weren’t planning to launch in the near future.
