JiaYu G2S real photo and specifications and Jelly Bean!

JiaYu are gearing up to launch their updated G2 phone with hardware which could possibly eat in to JiaYu G3 sales! Full details after the jump!

JiaYu have made headlines this year over and over again thanks to the JiaYu G3, a phone which packed high performance features in a low-cost package! Those of us following the G3 know how much of a headache it has been and many of us have moved on to different phones, but could the new JiaYu G2S win some customers back?

The G2s is the updated version of JiaYu’s popular G2 phone with the S standing for ‘speed’ which I’m sure it has an abundance of thanks to the dual-core MT6577 CPU clocked at an impressive 1.2Ghz and coupled with 1GB RAM!

It’s not only the faster hardware which sets the JiaYu G2s apart from it’s slightly slower and older sibling the OS is all new too with the G2S getting Android 4.1 Jelly Bean rather than ICS 4.0!

Screen size is still 4 inches with a resolution of 960 x 540, and the battery is a rather large 2100mAh unit which should keep even hardcore gamers happy for a day.

The G2S even gets the same 8 mega-pixel rear camera as the JiaYu G3 along with the 2 mega-pixel front camera!

Network support is the same as the current G2 and G3 meaning GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz networks and WCDMA 2100mHz units are all go!

JiaYu haven’t confirmed the official launch date (which is wise of them) but we expect to see the G2s some time this month priced at around $120!

So bad remobe the touch pad. Some persons like that (I’m not, but I know many people who bought it for the touch pad).
The line G2/G2s can continue with the touch pad and the G3 don’t.
That make more alternatives for users who search that.

A seller informed me, that Jiayu won’t sell G3 in the near future, probably only for some preorders, but even those might not be fulfilled.
Jiayu have set the price too low, leaving marginal room for unknown factors. The MTK chips were more expensive than expected, then also had issues with the screen… all in all, they tried to delay production of G3 with some stupid excuses (license, missing covers).
The aim is to delay the production until they can reduce the component costs. Or even until people decide to cancel their orders. They are sending out some phones time-to-time, but at a very limited pace.

NO MORE jiayu, pandawill says that they are closing manufacture after g3.
PS: try to buy g3 now, after months of waiting xD

I don’t think they will be closing manufacture. I won’t be surprised if they dump the G3 but they have just announced the G2s and G4 rumour are starting.

    Hi Andi,

Do you know wether the original G2(plus) devices will get an update to Jelly Bean? Seems those devices are very well capable of running it and other mt6577 devices do get updates.

Any rumors about that around the Jiayu camp? Thnx!
