Updated Beidou Little Pepper i2 arrives today!


The Beidou little pepper launched a few months ago under the headlines of ‘worlds cheapest dual-core phone’ which at $100 and with a dual-core Qualcomm MSM8225 it officially was. Today Beidou have announced that they will launch an updated version named the Little Pepper i2 so what’s different about the new low-cost Pepper phone?

While companies such as JiaYou and Zopo announce updates which include hardware improvements, Beidou have announced nothing buy OS and software updates for the dual-core Little Pepper, which is bound to disapoint a few fans of the phone.

The Beidou dual-core Little Pepper i2 will get the same Qualcomm MSM8225 CPU, 512mb RAM and 4 inch screen as the older model but will come with Alicloud OS rather than your standard Android operating system.

Alicloud OS is based on Android and can still run Android apps, but it features some special features such as cloud storage and its own App store.

The only physical differences between the original Little Pepper and the Little Pepper i2 will be special Alicloud specific buttons for navigation.
