JiaYu’s latest dual-core Android phone has now been officially listed on the company’s website, keep reading for full specifications of the JiaYu G2S.
The JiaYu G2s is yet another dual-core equipped phone from the Chinesephone manufacturer which sits directly below the flagship JiaYu G3 and the base model JiaYu G2 in price, but appears to be almost on par with the G3 for specification.
Like the other phones in the line up the G2S makes use of a dual-core CPU from Taiwanese chip manufacturer Mediatek, but the CPU in the G2S is an MT6577T model rather than the more common MT6577. I’m not fully aware on about the differences between the two CPU’s so if any of you know please feel free to let me know in the comments.
Gizchina News of the week
Like the JiaYu G3 the G2S has 1GB RAM and 4GB ROM which can be expanded upon with a micro SD card reader, which sits below a 2200mAh battery along with dual SIM slots.
A 4 inch 960 x 540 display sits at the front of the G2s with a front facing camera, while an 8 mega-pixel rear camera protrudes from the rear panel, which is available in a range of fashionable colours.
What is surprising about the G2S is the fact that it is listed with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean rather than 4.0ICS.
Head over to the JiaYu website for more details
I actually asked the same thing in the comments section of your unboxing video post, but information on Mediatek stuff is really hard to find!
BTW, the G2S isn’t the only phone with the 6577T. Some sites list the Lenovo P770 as having the same CPU. I won’t list the sites in question for fear of being thought a spammer :p
If I had to guess though it could possibly be a die shrink. The MTK6588 is supposed to be on a 28nm process. Companies often try out their proven designs on a new process first, before the more risky endevour of a new CPU design on a new fabrication process.
they MT6588 has been renamed to MT6589 btw. I wish this G2S had the MT6589 then the phone would be PERFECT.
If this is way cheaper than the Mythical Jiayu G3.
Then ill grab this one instead.
hello friends is it gorilla glass 2 or not
