Zopo’s latest monster phone, the 5.7-inch ZP950 goes on pre-order in China, and get’s a name change of international markets.
Zopo shocked and upset a few people with their new ZP950 5.7-inch phone. Some people were disappointed by lack of quad-core CPU (although the ZP800 quad-core is on the way) while other complained the phone/tablet is just to big, then there are those of you who dislike the ‘phablet’ marketing label.
If the above describes you then you will not enjoy this post (but you might like this one) as Zopo are currently offering the dual-core MT6577 ZP950 for pre-order across China, with shipping dates scheduled for after 21st December.
Gizchina News of the week
Pre-orders of the 1999 Yuan ($280) 5.7-inch Zopo, known as the “Zopo Leader Max” in China started yesterday and will continue to this Friday (21st December), for those of you outside of China though don’t go searching for “Zopo ZP950 Leader Max” though as source tell us that the large screen phone will be marketed as the Zopo ZP950 Phablet for international markets.
Other than the change in name, the international version of the Zopo ZP950 Phablet will offer the same specification as the Chinese versions meaning a dual-core MT6577 CPU, 1GB RAM, 1280 x 720 5.7-inch display and an improved (over the ZP900) 8 mega-pixel rear camera.
Zopo are one of the few Chinese phone makers which actually have an English site and webstore open for customers outside of China. Take a look at Zopomobileshop for more details.
By now, if it ain’t a quad core then it’s next to nothing!
It is available in india by name Zopo 950 Max Phablet. Price is 16000 INR ( 1820 yuan approx ) which is cheaper than China.
I just ordered one! They have $10 off on zopomobile right now.
Awesome!
Had received the phone on the 26th Dec, am pleased with the built quality and the large screen;
But currently there are some bugs , hope they will resolve with firmware upgrades.
1) The CPU is always running at 100% when charging, thus charging is very slow. To make it charge faster, I’ve to turn off my phone.
2) The Autobrightness is not working, it always stays at the dim side, I did some test with androsensors app. It is constantly reporting from 10 lux uder no light to 280 lux under bright sunlight. This could be a calibration issue
