Since the initial excitement after the iPhone 5’s launch, we have seen very little of the purported Android powered clones which were all over the news at the time, but of the few we have seen this quad-core model could be the best.
Of the few iPhone 5 clones we have tested, none have really excited us, and most have been very cheap full plastic phones with low specs. Hardly surprising really as those phones launched dust weeks after the real iPhone.
Since then, domestic Chinese phone makers have been hard at work preparing all new 4-inch iPhone 5 clones making use of the new technology launching around them.
Gizchina News of the week
This latest iPhone 5 knock-off from Chinese company Jingxian promise to use Mediatek’s newquad-core MT6589 CPU with a suggested clock speed of 2Ghz! If that wasn’t enough to blow your festive stockings off then how about a 4-inch 1135 x 640 resolution display, 1GB RAM, 8 mega-pixel rear camera and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean!
Like the real iPhone 5 the Jingxian i5 will be available with in a choice of storage sizes, but ranging from 8GB to 32GB. Prices are rumoured to be around $230 at launch which should be next month!

This phone sounds promising, but it’ll probably be months before it’s released.
Andi, where can I learn more about cpu’s, gpu’s,etc because when I read articles about tech having quad core this quad core that I don’t know whether they are talking about cpu’s or gpu’s, i’m a noob at specs. Do you have any recommendations on where I can learn about this, as well as learn how one quad core is more powerful than another quad core cpu/gpu made from another company?
