Zophone I5 new upgraded version better than the Goophone I5!

Zophone is back with an upgraded version of their iPhone 5 clone. It now uses a nano sim card like the original iPhone 5 and their new package also includes the new Apple earpods and not the plain old earbuds Apple was using.

The upgraded phone also has a new 960*540 QHD Gorilla glass display while the older version wasn’t using Gorilla glass and had a QHD screen.

It also has, true dual-core processor which gives the phone an Antutu score of 6800, an 8 mega-pixel rear camera that takes clear pictures and a better 3G connectivity so you get the best out of your calls.

Zophone didn’t just upgrade the phone’s hardware they also upgraded the phone’s software, you can now choose a vanilla Android Jelly Bean install or a good looking iOS theme based on iOS 6!

As you can see, it really looks like current iPhone 5 OS!

iomenu2zophonei5And this is the Vanilla Android Jelly Bean OS .

The Zophone I5 is avalable for purchase immediately at their official website, zophone.hk

Happens to me all the time. If you type “thsn” (an easy mistake to make on a tablet keyboard), the autocorrect is “then”.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but doesn’t the GooPhone i5 have a retina display?

This looks low res in comparison. How is it “better”?

    • December 30, 2012

I think you’re right Popo. Could you check on that Anexonel?

Yep I am sure, iPhone uses a 1136*540 while the Goophone I5 uses a 960*540.
The post isn’t a comparison, it is to show what ZoPhone added to make their clone better.

Great. But is it available for shipping outside China? Can’t make much sense out of a google-translated version of zophone.hk .

I’d also like to know if they are shipping overseas…and perhaps if there’s an english page or a distributor carrying the upgraded ZoPhone.

Actually increasing the resolution of the screen beyond QHD is not so great. This is because the MTK6577 has optimum performance driving a qhd screen. Any thing more than that may introduce lag or jerky ness.

No; these devices IMEI is not recognized by Verizon on its “approved list of compatible devices” although the phone I do believe can receive the frequencies that Verizon uses for 3g and Talk

I have bought a zophone i5 few days ago. The phone is an amazing replica of the original iphone 5. However, my problem is that it displays Chinese characters in a lot of applications even though the language setting is English. Can anyone help me switch from Chinese letters to complete English?
