ZTE already have a couple large screen phablets such as the Nubia Z5, ZTE Grand S and also the budget minded ZTE U887, but that isn’t enough for the Chinese phone maker as they have another model, the ZTE P945 in the works!
Gizchina News of the week
Leaked renderings for the newphablet shows the ZTE P945 will receive an 8 mega-pixel rear camera and large 5.7-inch display.
Sources close to ZTE claim the newdevice will use a quad-core 1.2Ghz CPU (likely a Mediatek MT6589 unit), a 3000mAh battery and Android Jelly Bean all contained in a sub-9mm body.
Unfortunately for international customers, the P945 seems to be a China only device due to the China Mobile branding.

Not my words … someone else wrote this … I just cleaned up a couple of typos …
” Large phones are something you’re going to be seeing a lot of this year. We all laughed at Samsung when they introduced the 5.3 inch Galaxy Note back in 2011, but man, we fell head over heels with the 5.5 inch Note II just a short year later. Rumour has it that the next Note is going to have an even larger 6.3 inch screen! The rest of the industry has started to take notice. Photos of Huawei’s 6.1 inch Ascend Mate are floating around the internet, and now there’s news of a new device from ZTE called the P945 … ”
I couldn’t agree more; let’s hope they keep the price sensible !
Given the ‘possibility’ of the new MT6589 processor and a ‘hope’ that OTA updating might be offered; the logo ‘CHINA MOBILE’ would not, IMHO be a drawback to marketing in English speaking territories. certainly not in the UK.
I’m actually planning to ‘major’ on the ease of availability of good quality Chinese manufacturing when marketing these SECOND TIER products in 2013 …
Mr. Millgate, how do you intend working on availability since most of these phones rarely stay available in China. I actually import some units of these for the Lagos market and one major challenge is availability of the products.
