There is a strong Chinese presence at CES this year, and among them is CPU manufacturer Rockchips, who have been showing off their new quad-coreRK3188 unit. The new CPU is based on ARM Cortex-A9 architecture built on 28nm to allow for great performance and low power consumption.

The quad-coreRK3188 is aimed at the mid-range tablet market and is optimized for use with high-resolution 2048 x 1536 Retina displays and sports a 1080p decoder capable of buffering 60FPS!
What this means is that we are going to see a lot of high-resolution Retina tablets on sale later this year all priced around the $200 price mark!
