Mogu planning low-cost 6.1-inch, Android 4.2, quad-core MT6589 phones this year


Mugu, famed for the super cheap Android smartphones, have announced today they intend to release 7 new MT6589 quad-core Android phones with the flagship model boasting a Huawei Ascend Mate size 6.1-inch display!

The new range of Mogu phones appear to be aimed at the OEM market, meaning we are going to be seeing a whole lot of huge screen phones featuring the same specs and same designs but all under different brands for the next few months.

Each phone, from 5-inch to 6.1-inch, will feature similar specifications and the same Samsung style design, but OEM’s will be able to specify additional goodies such as OTG screen’s, built-in NFC and enhanced stereo sound.

The basic specifications of each is a quad-core 1.2 Ghz MT6589 processor, 13 mega-pixel rear camera, Android 4.2 and a body width of less than 10mm.

Display options will range from 5-inch 1080, 5.5-inch 1080, 5.7-inch 720 and 6.1-inch 720.
