The 5-inch screened ZTE U956 cropped up a fews days ago when it was given the green light to go on sale, but this is the first time we have seen real photos of the entry-level, quad-core phablet.
Like it’s bigger, more powerful, and more expensive brother the Grand S, the ZTE U956 offers buyers a 5-inch display and quad-core processor, but a more affordable price.
Gizchina News of the week
Getting the price down to, an unconfirmed, 1499 Yuan ($240 ZTE have had to ditch the 1080 display of the S and have given the U956 a 720 HD 1280 x 720 screen. The quad-core CPU has also been downgraded to a more cost-effective Mediatek MT6589 unit, but performance is expected still be pretty amazing.
Being an MTK phone we do see dual-sim support for TD-SCDMa and GSM along with an 8 mega-pixel rear camera.
As the ZTE U959 has already received its network license, and we are now seeing real photos emerging, we can expect to see the phoneon sale very soon.
