Quad-core MT6589 phones are currently in limbo. Plenty of them have been announced, but not one has gone on sale yet, well unless the unknown manufacturer of this Samsung GalaxyNote 2clone is telling the truth.
According to reports on Chinese tech sites, this Samsung GalaxyNote 2clone is being advertised as the first MT6589 quad-core to go on sale, a bold claim, but that’s nothing compared to the purported specification.
Gizchina News of the week
Online resellers are apparently listing this knock-off as featuring a 5.7-inch AMOLED 1280 x 720 display with Corning Gorilla glass, an 8 mega-pixel rear camera and 5 mega-pixel front, a quad-core 1.2Ghz MT6589 CPU, 1GB RAM, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS and a massive 3600mAh battery!
Of course this is all possible, but we are reluctant to believe the claims as this knock-off is priced at an unbelievable 1699 Yuan ($273)! Perhaps if the screen was a regular IPS model, the front camera was a 2 mega-pixel and the battery was half the size we would be more willing to believe them.
What do you think? Too good to be true or an amazing bargain?
I’ll bookmarked this page and watch for this phone. Sir if you have any update about this please post again. I really like to buy zp950 since the announcement of it but been holding off the purchase due to cheap quadcore phones that are yet to come out.
Now this is very interesting. I’ll take this over Zopo if everything advertised about it is true.
Thanks

Like Andy said, many of the newsflash phones have never arrived to the shelves, so take a breath and soon you will realise, that only few percents of the phones mentioned here can be bought outside China.
Cubot A6589 seems to be hitting pre-order on some sites. It sort of fits the bill apart from the AMOLED Gorilla glass (it is IPS) and 5 MP front camera (it is 2MP) and 3600 mAh battery (it is 3000 mAh).
It is pre-ordering for release on 31 Jan at between USD 260 – 280 though and MTK6589 with 8GB ROM and 1GB RAM and what looks like a fairly vanilla Jelly Bean 4.1.1 and a Note II clone design.
