Neo N003 official specifications and renderings

I feel truly sorry for anyone planning to buy a quad-core MT6589 phone this year. You really have some tough choices to make! The JiaYu G4 looks stunning as do the Umi X2 and Sheng X7, and now you have the Neo N003 to consider with its amazing specification!

We’ve known Rio were planing a new Neo quad-core phone for some time, and even had a rough idea of the design and some basic knowledge of the hardware in the phone, but thanks to commenter Teja, and some links to the N003’s design, I happened to stumble upon the full official specification!

Gizchina News of the week

The Neo N003 is going to run a quad-core MT6589 CPU at 1.2Ghz much like similar phones, but with 2GB RAM and 8GB of built-in memory, plus support for an additional 32GB via SD card . The N003 will also boast Yamaha stereo speakers, a Sony 13 mega-pixel rear camera and a 5.3-inch display with Corning Gorilla Glass!Ā

So which MT6589 phone are you planning to buy? Or are you still holding out for more?

    Hi Andi,
IĀ“m planning to change my phone (LG Optimus Black) and I was looking forward for the OPPO Find 5 buuuuut looking the prices between Find 5 ($399) and Grand S ($289) made me start thinking thatthe Grand S could be a great option (for the prices IĀ“m based on the fastcardtech page) and also is this one Jiayu G4 ($240).

It will be my first chinese buy so pls advice me on this.

thanks in advance and your page is great, keep rocking!!!

5.3″ at 1280×720 is a deal breaker. Most have 1920×1080 at 5″. I will take a Full HD at 4.7″ bot for sure not a 720 at 5.3″.

Also reading more about the Mediatek quad core I start having doubts. It is a quad but the A7 which may be slower in many apps than the dual A9. I think I will wait for a future A15 variant, or look for other options with other Socs, I’m sure will are many this year.
Also I would like to be able to play in hardware 1080p at 60fps (which most other current ARMs can) but none of the Mediatek ones (only 30 fps decode). All my camera recordings are at 60fps and Mediatek can’d do it (tried).

I’m actually surprised by the hdmi output feature. I get that it will be a mini hdmi on the phones side but wont that make the phone a “bit” thick?
