Android smartphones are advancing at light speed, but the front cameras on most are less than impressive to say the least. Thankfully there are a few companies addressing this and China’s Hike is one of them!
If you are the type of smartphone user who just can’t resist posing in front of your phone and taking a self-portrait, then there really is only one phone for you and that’s the Oppo Ulike 2 due to the front 5 mega-pixel sensor.
However, the Oppo is a little on the pricey side, has a small display and is a little too feminine for some users, so how about the Hike Phantom TI HD!
Gizchina News of the week
At just 1499 Yuan ($240) the Hike is considerably less than the Ulike 2, yet it manages to offer the same 5 mega-pixel front camera, but also a larger 4.7-inch HD display too!
That front camera does take its toll on the processor though and you will only be getting a dual-core MT6577T with 1GB RAM, rather than the more powerful quad-core MT6589. The Hike also has a non-replacable battery which help’s keeps the body slim, but means battery swaps are out of the question.

Looking amazing from the pictures.
I am still waiting for nice MT6589 smartphones. Until now I can say 90% have almost the same shape, something like a rectangle with round corners. Some of them have a button. But the same boring design.
Look great! I love that desing … So bad the specs. 🙁
