The word is out, and Newman are officially working on a new flagship model currently known as the Newman K1, however reports of leakedspecifications suggest Newman have switched from Samsung back to Mediatek as their processor supplier!
The original dual-core N1 was praised for it’s high performance and low price last year, so too was the quad-core N2 which used a powerful Samsung Exynos CPU. Now, with 5-inch displays being a must have for any flagshipphone Newman appear to be trying to get the price/performance ratio just right.
According to the purported leakedspecifications the next generation Newman K1 (which will receive a name change) is expected to launch with a quad-core MT6589 CPU with 2GB running a 5-inch 1280 x 720 display. The choice of a lower resolution display is going to help the K1 in a number of way’s from price to performance and avoid possible delays brought on by the number of 5-inch 1080 panels currently in demand.
Gizchina News of the week
The rest of the hardware is very similar to the Newman N2 we reviewed earlier in the year, meaning less hiccoughs during the development and manufacturing processes.
Although the Newman K1 won’t be one of the highest specification phones when it goes on sale, the fact that Newman have purposely downgraded the phone to offer the best bang for your buck makes this phone all the more intriguing!
What do you guys make of the Newman K1?
