Reports are coming in from concerned JiaYu fans over a possible JiaYu G4 delay! So what is going on and when will the JiaYu G4 finally launch?
This weekend numerous online resellers posted that JiaYu have delayed the launch of the JiaYu G4 and that the quad-core phone will now launch mid-May. The reports claim that an issue with the JiaYu G4’s 13 mega-pixel rear camera is to blame, but is this really the case?
Gizchina News of the week
JiaYu never actually confirmed that the G4 was scheduled for an April launch. The rumours have always been there and online resellers have claimed that this is the case, but JiaYu didn’t actually confirm an April launch. What’s more we haven’t seen any posts on the JiaYu forum letting fans no of a problem or delay as they normally would.
We have reached out to JiaYu for a comment and they have confirmed that the JiaYu G4 will enter mass production in May with samples heading out for review in April. They have remained silent as to if this is a delay due to camera issues or if this was their planned schedule all along.
OK… that’s it… FUKK THIS>… i’m buying whichever phone is coming on the market first… wish i could afford oppo find 5 midnight edition… T__T Ma be i will save up for it and just buy that… hmmm….
Lol, why do you wait for Jiayu then?! The only reason to wait mt6589 phones is dual sim. If you doesn’t care about dual sim – it’s better to take any single sim phone (exynos, qualcomm).
Could you recommend something similiar to G4? I need a cheap phone with 4.7″ display (5″ is too big) and quite good performance (don’t care about dual sim). G4 looks perfect for me and I’m willing to wait for it. However I’d like to see some other options.
……. Long wait…..
I wonder, why Jiayu don’t try to win the race – at least in terms of time. An April launch would’ve sold many more handsets as compared to a May launch. Already 2 months since MT6589 phones have been one sale.
I believe it’s for 2 reasons.
1) They have a very good quality control. So they really want to make sure their product works the way it should before handing it out to the public. They want to make it the best as soon as it launches and avoid any lemons if possible.
2) They are probably overconfident with the Jiayu name and the Jiayu fans seeing as there were thousands of fans(me included) who were willing to wait 6 months to get their hands on the Jiayu G3. So they know their fans want the best and as angry as they are, they will wait for it.
People have been jumping ship to other companies every single time Jiayu delays but the truth is Jiayu never set an official launch date for the Jiayu G4. All those pre-orders and rumors r due to the online resellers fault, not Jiayu.
Failure to wait usually ends up with people who end up getting the phone that is available right now and not the best which means u end up getting either a poor quality phone or a low specced phone. Either way it benefits us Jiayu fans because we get to see reviews of other phones before Jiayu launches their phones and in this way we can see that it is really worth it to just wait a bit longer.
My advice to everyone here, Have patience.
I agree with Norman….I will wait a few more weeks too…can live with my Samsung for a bit longer…no passionada
You’re saying like every other chinese phone companies beside Jiayu are garbage.
Spoken like a true fanboy.
I’m sorry if I implied that all are worthless but every company has it’s positive and negative side. Jiayu is a good phone maker and they strive to get high quality phones out into the market but they suck at keeping time. Neo provides phones with awesome specs missing from other phones such as the speaker and OTG functions n all that but has some problems of their own. Umi manage to launch fast and provide a similar specced phone as the Jiayu G3 last time but they launched with screen issues and a small battery.
All I’m saying is last year when I was waiting for my G3, i remember seeing people jumping ship 1 by 1 to other phone manufacturers because they couldn’t wait any longer and then see them end up posting about problems here n there. When the Jiayu G3 launched, there were only great reviews and happy posts and very minimal problems such as the battery drain(which was fixed by Jiayu in just a week or two) and a screen issue where the screen would pop out of the phone. That screen issue only occurred to some people and can be therefor grouped as lemons.
I’m not saying other phone manufacturers are garbage but to me Jiayu is better than most even though they are slow. That was my main point.
