No.1 Minipad Android iPad clone priced at $160!

The No.1 Minipad’s pricing has been officially announced at 999 Yuan ($160). No matter how you look at this Android powered iPad mini clone it looks to be an amazing bargain!

Packed with a 7-inch display, 2GB RAM, and quad-core MT6589 CPU, the No.1 Padmini Android iPad clone already has enough going for it to interest even hardened Apple fanboys, and now with pricing announced it’s even harder to ignore!

Gizchina News of the week

What’s special about the Minipad isn’t just the 999 Yuan ($160) price tag, but also whats going on inside the thin 7-inch tablet. Most Chinese Android tablets use a CPU from Rockships or similar which usually offer great performance, but lack important components such as 3G connectivity and GPS. The No.1 Minipad uses the same quad-core MT6589 cpu as most current smartphones though and as such get’s all the function of a phone, plus the ease of use of a mini tablet!

You would think at such an affordable price something would be missing, but the Minipad even packs 2GB RAM, 2 mega-pixel front camera and 8 mega-pixel rear! In fact if you stop looking at this device as a tablet and more of a large screen phone it looks even better value!

How many smartphones offer a 7-inch display, quad-core CPU, 2GB RAM and 5000mAh battery for just $160?

A measly 4GB! Guess I’ll wait till they bump it up to at least 16GB or another brand who’ll get it right. Now why can’t we have one like the T7 with phone capabilities also. Now that’s perfect.

Sucks there’s only 4 gig storage. would have found it a lot more interesting device if it would’ve had 16 or 32

Frankly, the price could’ve been better. Maybe mediatek will release separate chipsets (larger) for tablets which probably will take the cost down by a bit.

Larger chips waste more waffle space so they should actually be more expensive. If they have the capacity to cover demand why should they go back to wasting more material?

When will this one be available?

And I would give $100 more for a 9.7 retina display 3G version.
What’s up with that is it some kind of Architecture limitation that no Retina spece quad core 9,7″ tablet offers 3G?
