Pinch of salt: UMi working on quad-core Windows Phone 8 device?

Another ‘coming soon’ has been announced on UMi’s India Facebook page! This time claiming a Windows Phone 8 with quad-coreCPU is on the way!

A few weeks ago UMi India posted details of what they said is going to be a UMi branded Android tablet which looked a lot like the iPad Mini. Our sources at UMi said the tablet wasn’t real, however UMi India insisted it was and we would see proof within the week! 2 weeks on there is still no word on the UMi Tab, but there are now rumours of a new UMi device.

According to another updated on the UMi India Facebook page, the company are now working on a low-cost Windows Phone 8 phone with quad-coreCPU. No firm details are available at the time and the only evidence they have for the phone is screenshot of Windows Phone Developer sign up (which could be from any phone!).

Still if this turns out to be true it will be interesting to see what UMi can do with a Windows phone! In the meantime let’s hope they can concentrate on launching the long overdue UMi X2!
