The KaiQ8 is yet another HTC Butterfly clone, but unlike the others this knock-off packs a serous punch thanks to the 1080HD display and quad-core CPU and rather low price!
More details of the KaiQ8 have been unveiled over the weekend along with another leaked image of the 5-inch HD phone.
Apparently engineers at Kai have not been deterred by the obvious problems some manufacturers are having with getting the Mediatek MT6589 running more RAM and have opted for a 2GB RAM set up in the new KaiQ8.
Gizchina News of the week
With this amount of RAM on board plus the rest of the hardware, the Q8 looks to us as a very attractive and lower priced UMi X2 alternative!
5-inch FHD 1080p display, quad-core CPU, 2GB RAM, 13 mega-pixel rear camera, Android 4.2, 3000mAh and body thickness of just 8.8mm are all very impressive features for any Chinese smartphone, but to see them all on a device which will cost just 1299 Yuan ($209) is spectacular.
In comparison the Premium version of the iOcean X7 will offer a similar spec at a similar price, but seems to have been forgotten by the company, and the UMi X2 with near identical hardware will cost more at 1499 Yuan ($241).
We’ll be keeping a close eye on the Kai Q8’s development.
