Forget the GooPad mini, The No/1 P7 mini Pad is THE Android powered iPad mini clone to buy! Awesome hardware, great looking design and a low $160 price tag!

The launch of the No.1 mini Pad isn’t just great news for all of us wanting to buy a well spec’d Android tablet, but it also gives us all some peace of mind for the current crop of flagship Chinese phones!

You, see the mini Pad uses the same quad-core MT6589 CPU and 2GB RAM which many high-end Chinese phones will sport for 2013, but while most manufacturers are having difficulty with 2GB and the quad-core chip No.1 seems to have nailed it!

Gizchina News of the week

The mini Pad isn’t all about high performance though, as under the realistic iPad mini exterior and bering the 7-inch 720HD display, we find a 5000mAh battery, 8 mega-pixel rear camera, built-in 3G, GPS and Wi-Fi!

In fact as the mini Pad has a quad-core MTK chip, you can actually use this iPad mini clone as a fully fledged Android smartphone!

No. 1 will launch the mini Pad on the 18th April for 999 Yuan ($160) via their online store here.

Would have been great except for the measly 4GB internal storage. Now if they bump it up to 16GB then I’d get one.

Yes they do have a low internal storage and high priced. Not to mention that if any international buyer wants to give it a try it will most likely reach $200

I wonder, though, how much they have nailed it, the solution to 2GB. I hope there aren’t any bugs they are not talking about.
Bad thing is it will be hard to find out from early adopters as the community is very scattered and its hard to pinpoint the exact device that has some problem

Does this Chuwi V88 has phone call function?

If I’m not mistaken, Chuwi V88 does not sport built-in 3G, so it is NO match for No.1 pad.

When it comes to arm devices, i’ve only seen full “SoC’s”, meaning mtk6589 will always have the same gpu, regardless if it is being used on a tablet, on a phone or on a micro pc/media center, whatever. MTK6589 uses sgx544. Is not bad, but is not the best outhere, should suffice to common usage.

Da quanto si parla… la versione base è un 4 gb di rom + 8 Gb utilizzabile dall’utente. Poi sarà commercializzata la versione 4 gb + 16 Gb utilizzabile dall’utente e quella da 32 gb.

Having MTK6589 has nothing to do with it being able to be used as a phone. Does it have the SIM slots and GSM/3G radios is the important part.

LOL Radios are BUILT IN within the SoC, SoC’s with no built in radios have to use external 3g through the USB, WHICH MEANS MORE POWER USAGE!!

I’ve tried to contact No.1 several times in the last few months and not once did they respond?! I wanted to purchase the P7 mini pad in quantity for resale in the US. These people are foolish, and should respond when potential buyers knock on they’re door so to speak. Also, if I was them, I would have created an English tab on the main site, as well as other languages that the pages can easily be switched to… This is not new, plenty of companies have they’re web sites setup this way… This way they would not loose potential profits… Why are the wrong people in business? I see it constantly happening…

Bought one for $200+ to demo, what a let down. This is an unfinished product in my opinion. The Ram is actually 1GB not the 2GB’s the seller claimed. Installed Next Launcher 3D and noticed heavy lag. The Galaxy Note 2 handles this 3D launcher with ease. Voice recognition doesn’t work (not installed?), GPS doesn’t function properly (missing files?), battery shows as full but drains to 75% in 1/2 hr or less??? Damn shame! It would be fantastic if there were 2 or 3 custom ROMS out there for this thing. That would probably fix most of the issues this came with. If anyone knows of any custom ROMS out for this “red headed step child” PLEASE share the info….
