If you struggle to make it through the day on a single charge, then Lenovo’s latest P780 could be the answer to your prayers. The P780 will take over from the current P770 and as such features a number of improvements over the older phone.
Gizchina News of the week
The most important update is the larger 4000mAh battery which should provide more than enough juice even for very heavy daily usage. Other great updates include a larger 5-inch 720p display which can be used with gloves, an update to Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and a redesigned body that is similar to the Intel power K900.
Running a quad-core MT6589 CPU, the LenovoP780 also boasts dual-SIM support, 1GB RAM and 8 mega-pixel rear camera. The phone will launch later this month in China, but as of yet pricing is unconfirmed.
I know companies in China are spending a great deal on improving the effeciency, reducing the size and weight of batteries for electric vehicles.
Some of the developments are surely being used in phones. How else do you get a 4000mAh battery into a 5″ device.
If it’s anything like my Ascent Mate, it’s probably quick charging as well.
What other phone manufacturer outside China can do this?
oh, i like this one. it looks good, specs are nice and doesn’t look too thick either. non-removable battery, i bet .
So what?! Want a better one? 😛 Of course you could probably have a HUGE spare battery like the one for SG Note II from Mugen, 6400 mAh capacity. But, mounting a MT6589 I wouldn’t expect less than 100h w/normal use (1h of: video, web surfing and GSM calls for 4 days on a row).
If it was a 4″… would’ve been nice for my wife (she’s obsessed with battery duration).
no, i really didn’t mean 4000mah can be not enough. i’m ok even with 2-2.5ah, i just tried to reason how lenovo could mount such big battery in quite slim chassis
