32GB JiaYu G4 Turbo with 2GB RAM scores almost 16,000 in Antutu!

JiaYu have uncovered their secret weapon! The JiaYu G4 Turbo with MT6589T processor and 2GB RAM!

There had been rumours that Chinese phone maker JiaYu were working on a MT6589T Turbo model of the JiaYu G4, even when we asked our source at the company ourselves we got the tell-tale “maybe” answer! While rumours are all well and good though, evidence is what we all really want to see, and nothing is better than some good old Antutu benchmarks.

What we have here is a white JiaYu G4 running the new and improved 1.5Ghz MT6589T Turbo Mediatek SoC with a full 2GB RAM! The combination of double the normal RAM, faster CPU and faster GPU has resulted in a phone scoring 15,871 in Antutu version 3.3!

Gizchina News of the week

It seems that JiaYu’s engineers weren’t quite content with just adding more RAM and faster CPU, as they have also bumped internal storage up to a much more useable 32GB ROM!

jiayu g4 turbo specifications

JiaYu haven’t announced any pricing or launch dates, but Chinese media are suggesting a retail price of around 1299 Yuan ($211) for the Chinese market!

Oh noes. If that price will be real, resellers can set their price to $300 at first and $250-260 later, and it’s too expensive, IMO.

Come on dude, i totally respect the Jiayu company cause i think that if a phone doesn’t pass quality and functionality tests should not be released !

So i am willing to wait for a good phone neither buy any other crap just because they implemented first the turbo mtk or 2g ram 32 rom and so on …

Jiayu is trying to make a good brand name on market !

I got fed up of the innumerable delays, and got myself an Oppo Find 5. Awaiting delivery at the moment. I guess I would still need a secondary phone since I am on the road for a long duration on many days and need a cheaper phone for that. Hopefully the G4 2GB RAM version is the answer, thankfully I don’t have much of a time constraint now.

    • Simon
      May 29, 2013

Where did you buy your Oppo Find 5 from ?

      • May 29, 2013

I was supposed to get a media unit since I was going to review it for my site, but thanks to my debit card’s (and a few of my friends’) cards incompatibility with PayPal I had to make the purchase on AliExpress. I’ll reveal the seller’s name once I get satisfactory delivery.

        • May 29, 2013

EDIT: The media unit would’ve come from OppoStyle.com. I think they are the best people to buy the Find 5 from, if your card works with PayPal.

Allegedly (merimobiles) tell me the g4 advanced is imminent in the next couple of days….. Not weeks…. Days…
    Yeah right !!
So… A turbo version…. ?? How frustratingly long will that take to actually come to market? Let me just consult the mystic wheel of jiayu……………….

You will never guess… The wheel says………. ‘Soon’. :-p

    • Norman Zakaria

That’s weird, they told me they’d get it in about 2 weeks around June 10th++

Ya really too much of this waiting! I have really grown old waiting for 1st a 2gb UMI X2, then switched over to Jiayu G4 advanced, then came something UMI X2 Turbo, now it has vanished, and again Jiayu G4 Turbo with some good benchmarks! Am tight on my pocket, what else to do other than growing old!!?!

  17. May 29, 2013

    oh..very very very good news..
but Jiayu is very very slow production.

I think this will out 2014 january…because still not final non turbo g4 out…

    Jiayu very slow production.

    May 29, 2013

It will probably be this time next year when we know the true state of play with Jiayu. I’m hoping iOcean will launch their X7 advanced model soon, if they don’t Newman are producing good phones.

I will to give these guys a chance…….

I’ve give up on Jiayu. Last week I bought Nexus 4 which cost me about 50$ more than Jiayu. It’s awesome!

    • Simon
      May 29, 2013

I’m guessing you will also find alot more online support regarding roms, updates, tips n tricks for the nexus 4 than compared with the Jiayu g4. (when its released)

  21. Raul
    May 29, 2013

This 15871 score seems to be on a lower 1280×720 resolution screen, I think it will be lower on a FHD screen, probably around 13k, which would be 1-1.5k lower than the 1.2Ghz version. How much difference can 300mhz make?

    May 29, 2013

this phone already lost its position in ppl fav. list due to small disply size. what u do with below 5inch? i think 2gb ram purpose well utilised by over 6inch. latest trend

so my stright question is there any 6inch 2gb ram dual active (not standby) with front dual spk. etc which gonna start sales in 1month without further delay&with full stock?
if YES then plz write about them in separate section
if NO then i’ll b back after 2months

  23. May 29, 2013

Hope they release it before year 2020………

Damn, I have just ordered a Xiaomi Mi2A!

    • Simon
      May 30, 2013

I think the Xiaomi M2A has the ideal screen size at 4.5″, when you get beyond 5″ its just getting a bit ridiculous for a phone. Although I’m sure there will be people on here who will buy the Jiayu G6 (whenever that is released) ?

      • XrainX
        May 30, 2013

Man, please! I have a 6″ smartphone. I am almost a local star and I am using it to hide from people to not recognize me on the streets. It is covering all my face. When is raining I am using it-s Samsun S-View style cover like an umbrella.
        So great! :-))

          lol…thats funny.

      • June 1, 2013

Actually , i know not everybody uses their phones as a reader. But if you’r someone like me, then every inch of screen real-estate matters… I am a heavy ebook and manga reader. Trust me a 4″ sony xperia J feels like shit, when you are trying to read an ebook or mangas … a 6 incher may be a bit of a compromise on portability or handiness of the device but it would be awwsome merging all those needs into one device. For gaming and music i use my psp and i intend to keep my psp forevaa for gaming 😉 … i would love a phone with a nice huge battery so that it can play all my music, stream internet radio, animes, tv shows… read ebooks and mangas

But guess if you are just a social network user with some average user needs than i guess under 5″ should be more than enough….

  28. R.V.RAJU
    May 30, 2013

if u want small size means u want to use it as phone only then gameing & viewing videos etc. then i think 1gb enough. u have lots of choice.
what about ppl who love to use it more then a phone with big disply, can keep it in pockets against 7inch tabs. i think for them 6inch are correct size. so waiting for 2gb ram 6inch beast under 300$.
i requesting andi to start a new thread for 6inch,2gb ram category.
just think why brands started 6inch.

    JIAYU are u listening ?????

  31. Navaneet
    May 30, 2013

Will do wonders if it comes to India for that price in a reasonable time.
But Jiayu will launch it only after a hopelessly long duration but still I am waiting…!

I’m looking for the best chinese phone what best fits to my expectations after the SGS2. Hard job. :o)

I bought a Cubot A890/M5689. That was faster, had better stand-by time (2500mAh), but the picture quality significantly weaker than the SGS2.
I sold it, and bought a Zopo C2. Compared to the Cubot, the C2 has bigger screen (maybe a little too big for me, but acceptable) much better desing, and the FHD screen’s picture quality is awesome. Brighter and much better contrast, colors.
But also this is the biggest disadvantage of the phone. I think, this hardware too weak for this resolution. I feel it on the menus (even the force gpu render option is on) it much slower than the Cubot, and the firmware has more annoying bugs (touch screen, battery state).
This G4 would be the best choice for me by its specs.
The Cubot’s performance and standby time with the Zopo’s screen quality and design.

On Pandawill, the advanced version release date changed lot of times. The latest was 30th May. Few weeks ago they updated to 15th August refer to a negotiate with the manufacturer.
So i haven’t doubts, this will be another fairytale what won’t become true. Or when it will, MediaTek release the newer SoC.
    Sorry for my english
