It seems a day doesn’t go by without another piece of Xiaomi news appearing, but instead of a rumour the latest Xiaomi product is fact.
Currently Xiaomi phones don’t ship with headphones, but leaked packaging details of the Xiaomi Mi3 did list headphones as included which have had us wondering what Xiaomi earbuds would look like.

Well here they are and they are called Xiaomi ‘Piston’ headphones! The new CNC machined earbuds are on the official Xiaomi website now, but we can’t buy them just yet! In true Xiaomi form they are doing a bit of viral marking by offering a pair free to someone who guesses the correct retail price.
Pricing is between 150 Yuan and 299 Yuan. Hopefully we won’t have long to wait before they go on sale.

I have just bought some cheap earphones for my Mi2A, the sound is ok but if these are well optimized like most xiaomi products it should be very good!

The UMI earphone is great – much better than ordinary ones.
The earphones that come bundled with Faea phones are awesome.

I don’t trust your ears. Stock In Ears which sound great? I doubt it. Earpods costs around 25€ and they are OK, but not great. So you telling me they put more valuable earphones to a well calculated phone with focus on good hardware for small bucks?
I doubt that.^^ You have to try higher priced modells in your local shop to have a good reference like beyerdynamic, Sennheiser, Denon, AKG, Audio Technica for more than 100 bucks.
Klipsch Image S4 and Creative Aurvana Live are good stuff for under 50€. And of course the good old Koss Porta Pro.
Plenty of good offerings from Chinese brands as well, VSONIC and Soundmagic really stand out. For under €50 I can highly recommend the VSONIC GR06
Image S4 has quite a bit of sibilance . Single balanced armature headphones are where it’s at under 50$.
